Surprised you haven't tried this yet with your rear-valve-sims in place. I think I'll probably end up doing this... ASR Module and then H-Valve sim..

I only have two of them and they're currently being used for the two rear valves. Once I get the ASR, I'll see if I can force the H-pipe valve open with one of them.

The H-valve isn't the one that'll pull timing if forced open? Or is that only without a sim in place?

Oh and I picked up the packaged today; it was the ASR module

Yeah I don't think it's ASR's fault but pretty crappy tracking information from USPS!

C63 AMG S Coupe (Sept. 2017)
Installed mine yesterday. Not sure the difference is worth the money. Or if there is any difference with this module. I’m scratching my head with this thing honestly. I guess if everyone else is happy with it that’s great.

To me the difference is very minor, if anything at all, on regular Sport+. There’s a slight diff you can hear on comfort but not perceptible to my ears on Sport +.

I have a 2018 coupe, so maybe that’s something to do with it.

Hmm that's a bummer... It sounded like a big difference in videos. Maybe it's a bigger difference from the outside than from the insulated cabin?

I just received mine few days ago and planning to install tonight. I noticed there’s a black wire hanging out the module. Looks like a ground wire. Do I need to ground this wire or is it for something else?

the under detailed installation guide doesn’t mention anything regarding this black wire so forgive me if this is a stupid question.

Thanks

It’s the antenna. Don’t strip it and certainly don’t ground it out. You can just let it be and all is good.

Makes sense. Is it necessary to leave the car idle after opening the trunk to prevent limp mode? And on the remote which button is open, close, and normal

thanks mbworld!

I would leave the car issue for 5-10 minutes. And the buttons depend on which remote you got... They have a good explanation on their website of which buttons do what.

Just installed my module and I gotta say it makes a huge difference in my opinion. Even in comfort mode the car sounds a lot deeper. I like how during low rpm it still sounds aggressive.

Something i noticed the in mercedes me app is a there is a service with my car and remote start may not work. Remote start works fine despite the memo but I’m wondering if this is from the module or if it’s cause my car was in service last week?

hmm

My thoughts exactly, just look at my previous posts, the only advantage is that it keeps the valves open so the car starts loud even after leaving it overnight.

I agree with your statement. After experimenting with this in every configuration I can think of, I have found on a warm engine that the only perceptible difference is open flaps on Comfort. It will deepen slightly on comfort.

Sport+ or Race with flaps open there is no perceptible difference. Again, I have a 2018 coupe so maybe that’s the diff vs the guys with the 2016s and 2017s.

Annoying that the consensus seems to be that this is a $300 waste. My fault for jumping in on the early group buy, I guess.

Well, if mine ever decides to arrive (no sign of it via any tracking), maybe I’ll have an opinion of my own.

Meh, I think its good to have regardless... I like to be in control of everything, including the valves haha... Esp when I go 2ndry cat delete or DP's, I'll want the valves as open as possible anyways. Just knowing they are doing their own thing annoys me haha

Consensus? Out of 20 people that have ordered it, there’s been maybe 3 that have had negative or neutral comments? I think it’s still a bit early, and I agree that once we receive them, we will be able to form an opinion of our own.

could be more accurate to say that out of 20 who have ordered, 5 received them and over half think it doesn’t do anything worthwhile.

Like I've mentioned, I've been driving around with the valves open via the simulators and there is a huge difference down low in the rpms. Free revving probably isn't the best way to hear the difference, the car needs to be UNDER LOAD at low rpms to really hear the difference.

At least 2 of them have 2018s. That may be an issue.

I have a early 17 (Edition 1 Coupe). I'll install mine and post my results. Hopefully it's a night 'n day difference. I like it LOUD

Thanks. I didn't know that. I had assumed that because the exhaust button in the car has some influence over the H valve, the module would as well.
I guess that means for max noise with the ASR module, you need both the exhaust button in the car on (to get the H valve open) and the ASR open button pressed (to open the rear valves)?
