2008 s550 Date and Clock will not reset.
I can go through the Command Center and get into the Time. I can move the time to the correct time, but when I click on the center of the Command Button to confirm it takes me back one screen to the Time and does not update the clock. The same exact thing happens with the Date. I can update the Date to today's date but when I click in the Center to confirm it takes me back to the previous screen and the date goes back to 03/26/2018. I have no errors and everything else if functioning correctly including the working clock...it's just off an hour. I even tried to change it from Eastern Time to Central Time and it does not update, it just goes back a screen.

I don't know if there are differences in the system (maybe you can at least research and confirm that?), but you guys might have better luck in the S forum... this is the GL forum.

The only response that I received that might work, according to one answer, is to do the clock reset with the ignition in Position 1 and then turn ignition off. When the ignition is turned back on, the clock resets. I have not been able to try this yet as have been out of town and away from the car.

Set the time zone (or confirm with ok if already correct)
Then select daylight savings or regular time.
Clock finds the time via gps

2009 S550 CLOCK AND DATE WILL NOT RESET FIXED!!!
OPEN THE HOOD, THERE IS A FUSE BOX ON THE DRIVER SIDE. LOOSEN THE FOUR BOLTS WITH AN ALLEY WRENCH. THE BOLTS DO NOT COME OUT OF THE COVER. REMOVE THE COVER WITH THE BOLTS AFFIXED.
REMOVE FUSE 25 AND 39, ONCE BOTH FUSES HAVE BEEN REMOVED, PUT THEM BACK IN AND IMMEDIATELY GO SET THE CLOCK AND DATE WI TH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER.
REMOVING THE FUSES RESET THE SYSTEM, THE DEALER WILL DO THIS WITH A MACHINE AND GET THE SAME RESULTS FOR 3OO.OO.

Thanks George
I will try this ASAP!!
My biggest problem now, however, is a complete inability to get into car. Electronic fob and mechanical key (both driver door and trunk) are locked out (suspect glitch in the chassis control module). Anyway, in the process now of having both fobs electronically reset by MB to match VIN of car. Doubt that this will work, though. If I’m patient, might wait until both car batteries discharge to see if mechanical locks release for key function.

’07 S65 AMG. Just bought the car in Late Spring and for the 200 miles or so that I drove it, everything worked perfectly. My daughter borrowed the car to meet some friends at a restaurant. When she exited the restaurant, the car would not open to the fob, either from vicinity or pressing the buttons. Immediately replaced the fob battery at a nearby AutoZone but no change. Mechanical key inside fob would not open driver’s door or trunk locks. Contacted locksmith who promptly stated “ No Way” could he access this car. Contacted prior owner who stated that “99% sure that the supplied mechanical key works with this car”. Expensive tow home because, with car unable to be put in neutral, all 4 wheels had to be jacked up on dollies to accomplish removal from parking space and safe tow.
I am in the process of having MB re-code both keys to the VIN but doubt that this will help. Suspect that the chassis control module “glitched” and car entered into something called total lockdown where the fob receiver is turned off and, according to MB, the lock cylinders are immobilized. The car enters total lockdown when it detects that there is an attempt to steal it. May be willing to wait until both car batteries discharge to see if this will result in the lock cylinders being released so that the mechanical key will open door. Local MB dealership Service Manager wants me to have car re-towed there but, upon questioning, could not guarantee that he could access car interior. He was not surprised that the mechanical key would not work in the door but was a little surprised that the key would not work in the trunk. Since the tow there, and potentially back to my garage (if MB unsuccessful), would be expensive, I have not opted for this yet.
thanks for your input.

Kind of an old thread, but, for future reference, the instructions are in the manual, page 493, "unlocking/locking in an emergency".
In summary:
In summary:
- insert mechanical key into driver's side door
- turn key 90 degrees counter-clockwise (until you encounter resistance) and hold in that position
- pull on the handle multiple times until the lock releases
- pull on the handle once more to open the door

Thanks Miguk
I’m aware of what the manual states but in my case, the key will not turn 90 degrees in either direction. In fact, it won’t turn at all. A locksmith was unable to enter the car.

I'm unaware of any type of automatic, physical lockout that prevents this. But then, as this is a GL forum, I'm not versed with S-class things and maybe there's something different? If so, you might be better suited to ask your question in the S forum.

I have a "new-to-me" 2007 CL600 with a similar issue. I can get the correct time to stick, but that analog clock seems to ignore the setting. The Time Zone and DST are also sticking. However, the date does not stay to my setting. The date format does appear to stick.
Yesterday, I tried pulling fuse 25 and 39 (both are 7.5 amp fuses). There was an Allen wrench of sorts in the owner's manual bag(?) and there was a fuse map on folded paper in the tool roll. There were also extra fuses and a fuse puller in a Zip-Lock bag (sealed from MB) in the tool wrap (very handy). I tried this twice, the first time fuses were out for a "couple minutes" and the second time, they were out for a good 10 minutes. When I put them back, I went to the car, hit the Start button twice (without foot on brake) to wake up the electronics, and then I attempted to set the date. The only thing I noticed happening was the analog clock went to 12:00. The date did not stick, however, and the digital TIME was unchanged, (ie correct and not reset).
I reviewed the fuse map, and I had an extra set of eyes confirm I was pulling #25 and #39. As I understand, this should have fixed me up. Any other suggestions?

UPDATE: This morning I tried another option. First thing this morning, I opened the door, tapped the START button (to wake up electronics), and set the time via the COMMAND menus. Eureka! The analog clock reset to the time I set in the COMMAND menu! I then tried to set the date, but didn't have any luck. Not sure if too much time had passed, or if it wasn't going to work anyway. However, since the DATE isn't something I'm worried about, I probably won't try again.
Good luck to everyone out there. Hope this helps!

Finally got around to trying your suggestion about pulling fuses 25 and 39. Followed your protocol to the letter but no luck as far as the analog clock resetting. The clock in the COMAND is correct. Before quitting, I left the ignition on (position 1) and the clock on the COMAND visible, pulled fuses 25 and 39 and watched the clock for a couple of minutes. Somewhat surprisingly, it continued to work. My clock must be on a different fuse. With 70+ fuses, hate to pull each one at a time. Any thoughts?
it’s an ‘07 S65 AMG. Thanks in advance.

Please take a look at your neighbor forum on how to permanently fix the clock issue and it is DIY.

I had this problem too, I live in the UK, It would not change country from germany, the date and time would not save changes.
I found the answer on another forum.
The issue is the gps connecting to the sats
The fix is
Power off the command unit in the evening.
Lock the car
The next morning
open the car
power ignition lights on but don't start
switch on the command
Get to the time date settings
adjust the date and time
that's it fixed,
you only have about 60 seconds to get the changes made, you will probably have to do it again if summer/winter time changes happen in your region.

Setting Clock on S550

Thank you @conbobway for the guidance - it worked.

I did what another guy said and it worked for me. He said to let the car sit overnight with the everything off. Next day turn the key to the first click or push the start button once, go to the vehicle settings, go to the clock setting and reset it. And do it within 60 seconds from turning the key to the first click. I have been fighting this clock issue for months and had no luck getting it done. But this worked for me!
