real fander gap issue
hey all
here we go, i have 19's lowered H&R with #3 pads (real).
issue: real passenger side (right lol) center of hub to fander 14'
real driver side center of hub to fander 13' 1/4 WTF?
so there is 3/4' gap diff....tire/fander
plz don't tell me coz empty gas tank (2gal)
anyclue ???? some 1

1st of all not to be an *** or anything but it took me quite a while to decipher your message so...
I dont think the gap difference would be caused by an almost empty fuel tank. Are you the original owner? Was the car ever involved in an accident?
I am almost tempted to check mine as well to see if I have the same gap difference?????

I have the same problem and so do many other people.
Our cars are not perfect and neither are many other cars for that matter. That's why they sell different size spring pads so you can adjust to your needs. Don't trip potato chip just get a smaller spring pad for the side that sits higher or do the opposite for the other side to even the car out. That's what I did and that's what I would suggest to all others who find themselves over analyzing the fact that their car is not even after a suspension switch.

also do you have real camber kit on urs? coz mine real right side tilts in negative camber, eats the inside wall of tire bad. its funny the left real its ok.
to fix it i need k-mac kit, anything alse would help?

i guess just stay with #3 on the the left rear/maybe get #2

i think my passenger side actually sits lower...it looks the same to the eye on both sides but the rubbin is always so much worse on the passenger side :-(.....it rubbed away all the letters on the tires where it says michelin lol...and it rubs on the inside pretty bad too....i shouldnt have went with the 35 sidewall...

so i have left #3 driver rear side-#1 right rear but fender gap still bigger here...omfg anyclue why (it could be cuz i need camber kit) no way
just give up...lol

I have 2000 CLK430. Does anyone know what are the original pad number? I called MB and they told me depending the color of the dots painted on the spring. Told them mine is red and they said it's 2103210384 which is #3 I think.

You may want to make sure your springs are installed correctly. When I had mine done, we didn't exactly get the rear, passenger side in right the first time. It set higer than all the others because we didn't have the spring turned just right on the swing arm. That may be your problem. Even though the spring is in, doesn't mean it is necessarily correct.

Do all 4 pads have to be the same size? My mechanic accidently mixed them up. The height of the car is not much different at all. Is that ok to leave it like that or should they be the same size? Also my car is pulling right an left, would this cause the problem? Also would inner tierod cause the car to pull right and left?
