I've bean meaning to post this thread for awhile now to answer some questions about the car, so here goes. It is a 2007 CLK550 that was built to focus on power to weight ratio. I believe the only option it has is the Harmon Kardon sound system. No nav, no rear sunshade, no heated seats, etc.- it is spartan. Now onto the mods in its current state:
Weight Reduction:
OEM hood replaced with VIS Carbon Fiber Hood
Spare Tire delete / Toolkit delete
Aluminum Sheet Metal trunk floor
Trunk Lid carpeting/trim removed
Center Console removed
OEM carpet removed and replaced with lightweight carpeting
Exterior:
Custom Widebody Front and Rear w/ Paint
CLK63 Front Bumper
CL63 Rear Bumper
Trunk Lid Spoiler
All chrome painted black
Wheels, Suspension, Brakes:
20" HRE P40s with 255 and 305 width tires
Bilstein PSS9 Coilover Suspension
Renntech GT BBK: 14.2" 6-piston Front, 13" 4-piston Rear
Power Delivery:
ALL NA 5.5L Motor + 7-speed transmission
Renntech Short Tube Headers
Renntech Dual Exhaust (Quad-tip)
Renntech ECU
Interior:
CLK63 Black Series Steering Wheel w/ Shift Paddles
Suede Headliner
Suede Accents
Renntech Badge on Ashtray Door
Estimated Weight: 3400 lbs
Estimated Power Output: 450 HP
The results of the weight reduction, forged wheels, wide tires, 7spd tranny, and big NA motor is incredible. It is easily as fast if not faster than a lot of BMW M and AMG cars, and turns too. I am very happy because it offers a very different experience that those cars don't offer along with it's unique mods and appearance.

Beautiful car, love everything you've done to it.
It's a nice, subtle flared body. Not quite BS but not quite stock. It's a perfect blend!
How long did it take for them to mold the fenders?
450 hp from only those mods?? I would think exhaust, headers and ECU would give 30-35hp max.
Amazing car nonetheless

Thanks, I bought the car almost as-is actually. The original owner had all the bodywork done when the car was essentially new, I have about 18k miles on it now. I may be wrong on the HP, you know how companies claim big numbers to sell mods Originally Posted by discoduck

One day I will dyno it so I know for sure though, and if I find out I will post it here. I still think a healthy guess would be 425, but we shall see.MBWorld Fanatic!

Very nice finishing on the flare blending, a manufactured bodykit like this would be a strong seller I imagine. Please do let us know what the WHP ends up at, the 273 is quite a beast and some great gains can be made NA.

When I was looking at buying a E550 coupe I asked Kleemann corporate about the M273 kit, Lars (Director) told me that they cancelled the project because there was very little actual demand and the cost of the kit would have been very high.Originally Posted by discoduck

They have sure done well with the M113 kits and for sure they are going to do wonderfully with the 63 kits as well.

Tasteful & aggresive. This is my new favourite CLK on the boards. I actually prefer this "look" to the CLK Black....fenders are not so abrupt as the black series.

I seen your ride on previous sites and must admit one of the sexiest CLK out there with the slight fender bends. Badass!!

Amen; those fenders are a work of art. Congrats on what's probably one of the coolest W209s on the planet.

Love it!
The great thing about CLKs compared to other AMGs/ Benzes is they dont weigh 4,000lbs.

I wonder what my local shop would charge for that work-of-art fender job?.... Sooo delicious!
THANKS guys! I am glad to be here and participate as I used this site a lot to research the CL suspension problems. I am relieved that car is gone!
I think the bi xenons could be a good add to the car, but I am happy with these bc they WORK. Mercedes makes terrible headlights, I have had problems with the CL, SL55, and the parking light portion of these (anything OEM mercedes). The xenons on these are aftermarket and they work 100% of the time unlike the OEM units so I will save myself some headache there. I love these wheels' mesh design, but I find myself kind of wishing for something with a lip...
I may switch it up somewhere down the road.

NO SUPERCHARGING! It may be odd, but I really don't like superchargers because of the way they make power and the sounds (whine). This car is way more fun than the SL55 and one of the main reasons I bought it over an AMG car is bc it is all NA. Originally Posted by Black_CLK

If there is one thing I would change is the size. I think 19's would look better. Your 20s look awesome just a lil too beefy IMO for the CLK!!Originally Posted by Nero Tenebre

The color of the suede always looks weird in photos (console and door panels are the same material) but here you go:Originally Posted by buffyclk500

If it helps for reference, I checked the invoice and it was about $15k for the custom paint & body work. I also looked under the wheel arches and the flares are metal, welded to the original panels-- very solid.Originally Posted by betrezra

You may be right, there is barely any sidewall on these and from some angles it looks "cartooney" (no pun intended). I am using an extra set of SL55 wheels as my spares (to clear BBK) and it is hilarious how the widebody makes those look like donuts:Originally Posted by elijah
