The rear calipers of the C63 can not fit to W209 because the distance between the holes that the caliper bolts on the axle is 90mm than 75mm which is the distance of the W209 caliper. You can make an adapter in order to bolt them on but you will need to make custom brake disk 355X26 than the OEM 330X26 for the brake pad to press with all its surface on the disk.
The front W209 6pot calipers use 340X32 or 360X32 two pieces rotors. The caliper is the same but with different adapter. Also the thread on the caliper adapter is M12.
The front C63 calipers use a 360X36 monoblock or two pieces rotors, which are not suitable for the W209. So first you must find rotor 360X36 suitable for the W209 hub and from my knowleage there is not any on the market. So you will need custom two pieces rotors. You will need also a custom adapter because the thread on the C63 adapter is M14.
I have manage to put the C63 brakes on my W209, just because my best friend own a workshop with digital lathe and mill and I just pay for the brakes. If you have to pay for all the custom work its not worth because it has too much work to be done.
The problem with W209 amg BB is that very few cars came with them and the set is very rare thats why the price for them is high. (W209, W203 and SLK R171 use the same BB amg calipers).
From the other hand the calipers which C63 has on are common to E63, SL R230 and many other MB, thats why the prieces for them are not so high.
I bought mine two years ago for less than 1000USD.
Everything can be done. The only problem is the cost.
PS I will try to find fotos to post. It has past two years but I thing I will manage to find some on my hard drive.

Photos from the custom fit of AMG BBK
I manage to find some old photos from the brake upgrade. I didn't paint them or put the AMG logo, just keeping the Mercedes Benz. After all I drive a CLK200K with 206RHWP and the only I needed was some good brakes, because the OEM were suffer after a hard use. The car is a Cabriolet and I was luky because all the cabrio comes from the factory with the brake cylinder on the brake pump that the AMG models wear. So I haven't any issues with the brake pedal. At the last photo you can see the OEM AMG BBK for W209, which is common for W203 & SLK R171.

Hi, my CLK-320 CDi sports coupe has the sports suspension and the larger and thicker drilled rotors, hence the factory fitted 18" AMG wheels.
Would I be correct in assuming that my front brakes are the same as on a CLK55?
Would c63 calipers fit the front without adapters?
Are CLK55 calipers any better than my current 2 spot calipers?

From what I know clk320 CDI has 4 piston front calipers and 2 piston rear calipers (the same as c32/clk500/clk55 (prior 2005)/clk550).
C63 won't fit without adapters, but 2005 clk55/slk55 (6 piston front/4 piston rear with 2pcs front rotors) would be good upgrade, I loved those brake on my CLK.

Wheel offset questions
Hi,
Not sure which forum for this topic,
My CLK320 has f 18x7.5 ET37 and r 18x8.5 ET30 rims. I have been offered f 18x7.5 ET47 and r18.8.5 ET50.
Am I correct in assuming that I need to use 10mm spacers on front and 20mm on rear for these rims to fit OK?
Please advise

When doing caliper upgrades, a lot of people focus on getting the caliper fitted and finding rotors that will align. Obviously those things are important, but I think that brake bias and also piston sizes are important too.
From a bias perspective, I generally don’t mind if I am moving bias forwards, all other things being equal. Fitting performance pads to the front but not the rear on an otherwise stock car will do that, and it isn’t really an issue for lots of people. Shifting bias to the rear of a car can make it a bit of a handful, particularly on a circuit.
From a piston sizing perspective, there is a trap that people fall into all the time and I am surprised that it isn’t talked about more when people discuss upgrades. The trap is that the upgrade calipers often have larger piston sizes than the ones that they are replacing. This can do two things:
- Significantly increase your pedal travel. In a way that bleeding and re-bleeding your fluid will not resolve. I personally find this quite frustrating.
- Shift your brake balance *to the rear* unless swapping rear calipers as well. This is because the volume of fluid required to move the bigger caliper has increased and the volume required to move the rears has stayed the same.
I’ve made this mistake twice over the years. The first time was with an A2 Golf and the second time was with a E36 M3 (840ci calipers). The M3 wore rear pads faster than fronts and was a real handful on circuit. Only later I realised why. These were common upgrades but people on forums don’t always notice/think these things through.
I have no idea whether C63 piston sizes are the same or not. If they are the same then great, if not just be aware of the change you might introduce. Lots of solutions like adjusting bias/new MC but very few people actually do that.
For the W209/W203 AMG cars, I strongly recommend the 6 pot front 4 pot rear CLK55/CLK63 setup. Worth checking the rest of the brake system is the same for the non-AMG cars because you may need to change more.
I have the (later) CLK55 setup on my 2003 CLK55. When the time comes to replace rotors I will move to 360mm caliper spacers like these from Epytec and CLK63 rotors. The pedal travel is perfect and just like factory.

Entire brake system are identical across all w209 starting from clk320 (obviously except calipers/rotors). I think the smallest clk (clk200) may have different main cylinder (depends on whether is sport package or not).

Yes that'S correct, but I wouldn't do it unless you drive conservatively

I have a CLK63 Cabrio with the 360x32mm discs... VERY EXPENSIVE. I would like to move to the 360x36mm (thicker) from the C63 that are dirt cheap. Do you think if I retract the pistons enough they would still wrap around the 4mm extra thickness of the rotor? (36mm vs 32mm) ?
