Clk500 2005 ESP Control Module

Hi Guys,

Hoping for a bit of help.

Ammstar are saying I need a new ESP control module.

Speedo drops out, Brake wear warning comes up (all brakes are new) ESP alert comes out and cruise control doesn't work. Steering also gets heavier.

Problem is, They can't get a replacement and have asked me to source. They have given me a part number of 0365400401 but when i've found this part number, it says it doesn't work for my car. They are also saying this unit is about $3500 new to fit.

I'm finding ESP control modules on ebay from the states that are saying will fit, but only costing around $200. Ammstar will install when I get the correct part.

I don't know if it needs programming also. Really quite a newbie when it comes to cars. Just want my beautiful CLK500 to drive without errors and having a speedo would be good.

Can anyone help?

Welcome to the forum! Please take a moment to visit the User Control Panel and update your profile to include your location (at least country). This information will then appear below your name and avatar on the left side panel next to each post you make. This will greatly help others to give you better information. If you are using the mobile version of the site, you will need to switch to the "full" version to get to the User Control Panel.

That part number is for a CLK500 ESP module, but it varies by VIN. Post your VIN and I can lookup the correct part number in EPC. It does not need any coding.

Supercharged CLK500 & ML500
I've had a similar problems and was able to fix the issue by purchasing a new ESP module for $1000 USD; the thread with details is linked below:
https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class...04-clk500.html

Switching the module is an easy 5 minute procedure, the first post on the thread above has a link to a video detailing the remove/install.

The correct part number is A0365400201. It has been revised a few times, so if you are looking for a use one, these are also valid:

A0345456132
A0345451332
A0345458032

Thankyou again for your input.

The additional s/s numbers were super helpful. I wasnt able to find a new one that would ship to Australia, but I found a second hand one for $300 posted that hopefully is the solution to the problems!
