“The plant has informed us that they are experiencing supply shortages and the vehicles have been delayed. We’ve been told “vehicles may not be shipped until Q2”. I will keep you informed as I receive more information.”

My build date is still showing 2/11 but it’s bound to be changed. Crossing fingers for early Q2 as opposed to June.

Welcome to the club. I had a late Feb build slot but it was pushed into June.Originally Posted by soulsea

My bigger question is now whether production will bleed into 2022 whereas I previously understood all current GT model production would end in Dec 2021. The GT BS could end up being a unicorn if they don’t extend it.

Serge, that TRX looks fantastic. Your thoughts on the truck and didn’t you used to have a Raptor? Contrasts?

I don't want to derail the thread too much cause I was just messing around as I'm jonesing for the magno BS ...
However to answer your question, this truck is on a whole different level from the Gen 2 Raptor, and I say that having loved that truck and beat on in off-road for over 10k miles.
A 6000lb truck that does 0-60 in 3.5 whilst being able to jump and off road like a Baja truck and ride like an 73 El dorado on the street whilst sounding like an evil monster and with more whining than a confederate widow? Yes it is epic in every way possible!
It is by all measures a ridiculous thing, and I'm just glad to still be able to buy such a thing cause I don't think they'll let us do so for much longer ... it is such a wonderful thing.

I think Ford made a mistake with their release.Originally Posted by AMG 17GT

Not that there's anything wrong with the Gen 3, in a world where the TRX doesn't exist it would have been a fine evolution to the Gen 2. The suspension is better, and the 37 option is a great thing. Other than that it's kind of a dud that was rushed before its time in order to respond to the TRX. The problem ford has is that they had already given up on the V8, so trying to backtrack now is a desperate move that's unlikely to pay off. First of all they released a truck before its time that let most of their biggest fans down. All in the promise that a year or so down the line they will offer a V8 version to compete with the TRX. All the while Ram already has the Red Eye engine sitting on the shelf to rek them a day later.
The V8 game is on its last legs, FCA knows this and they're pumping them out as fast as they can before they're not allowed to any more. Ford should have stuck electric motors on the ecoboost. It would have given the Raptor more power, more torque, and it would have made it more fuel efficient, beating and differentiating it from the TRX. It would have been the perfect bridge between the TRX and the Hummer EV. Instead they're going to release a V8 a year too late to compete with a brand that has already beat them at that game. FCA doesn't have a plan for the future all it has is monster engines that people love but won't be allowed to buy in the near future.
I just don't understand what Ford is doing. I'm sure the Raptor R is going to be great, I might even consider buying one, but for now the current Gen 3 it's a whole lot of meh.
I have no skin in this game and no brand tribalism, I just care about great vehicles.
When in the history of humanity has the solution to any problem been more trombone?
Yet here we are.

Ok I promise I'll stop talking about my goober truck, but this does have something to do with the Black Series.
One of the things I loved about my GTR and AMG in general throughout its history is that they married European engineering and precision with the American muscle sound to create something really unique and a core characteristic of the brand.
Obviously with the particulate filter situation, and because AMG isn't making a separate exhaust for the US, that's not possible in the most epic car they've ever built. Which is a shame, and hopefully someone will offer an aftermarket option to make it right.
So if there are any vendors out there, get your tuning forks out and listen to this ... it doesn't have to be that over the top, just adjusted for the perfect AMG pitch.
Thnxby.
PS. That's not actually my plate, that's not what SC personalized plates look like, and I wouldn't do that anyway even if I could. It's just a novelty plate from the internet to hide my actual plate when I take the pictures.

Cool truck. I don't see how a truck can do 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. Seems like the rear end would be so light relative to the front that it would just smoke the tires. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

My BS has completed production. My SA says he has no idea when the car will be delivered though.

Surprised the Prairies are getting 8 cars. Thinking Alberta-4, Sask-2... are there big ballers in Manitoba? LOL.

hahaha that’s what my thoughts were too and had me scratching my head why prairies and Manitoba are getting so many! Originally Posted by canucklehead

i know this wont be a popular post, but with the new 911 gt3 running a sub 7 minute Nurburgring lap time, what are the opinions compared to the new BS? The 911 gt3 has ALOT less HP and only about 15 seconds difference?

While 15s is pretty a pretty big difference, it is gonna be interesting to see how the 3RS and the 2RS compete. And if AMG will redo the lap time since the winter conditions weren't optimal (if they even care though).Originally Posted by Doctodd33

On a side note, I hate front aesthetics of the 992 front bumper.

First of all 15 seconds is a huge amount of time over another car, it's not a straight line on the graph, each additional second gets exponentially more difficult to attain. On regular sized tracks one or two seconds can separate a hypercar from a supercar. Those of us who frequent the track know that the better we get the harder it is to get any faster, engineering works the same way as you are dealing with the laws of physics and the available tools you have at your disposal, especially in a car that also has to be road legal, resulting in the margins becoming more an more minuscule, yet at the very top of the performance scale it is all in those small margins.Originally Posted by Doctodd33

All that said Porsche always makes wonderful GT cars, and looks aside, the new GT3 looks to continue that tradition. The 992 3RS is a couple of years away and the 2RS maybe three ... I mean that's how this stuff works, each generation gets faster than the last.
I'm looking forward to getting a Touring ... NA, sound, red line, manual, all equal to what I think that's the top iteration of the 911 and that will probably be a keeper. If I really wanted something that I could also track then I'd skip the GT3 and wait for the 3RS.
On a side note, I'm suspecting all the snippy comments from Porsche fans about the large BS grille might now come to a grinding halt.

Does anyone have access to technical information on the Black Series suspension? I'd like to know how much room there is to lower the ride height on the stock coilovers.
