Good luck! Glad you were able to get clarification. Now we wait 12-18 months for our checks.

Random question. Has anyone noticed that the payment if the AEM wasn't able to be completed before October 1 is lower than if it were? Or, is this an additional payment?

I have a 2012 E350 and I have been waiting for a year for parts to be available, as reported by my dealer and confirmed by the bluetec hotline.

We did the mod on my wife's 2014 GLK250 about a year ago, she got the payment a month after mailing it in.

2013 E350 Bluetec
I completed my AEM on Sep 10 for my 2013 E350 and submitted the claim two days after. I received my check yesterday. For those who share similar timeline like me, I suggest you reach out to Shelby to make sure that all the materials you have submitted are sufficient. I think that could prevent unnecessary delay.

I filed my last claim on Sept 11 and have confirmation all is complete, yet the check did not arrive today.
Now I;ll be standing at mail box.

That is exactly what they said -- EGR.

I got a call from the dealer yesterday, Wednesday, evidently the DEF pump is dead and a previous owner hacked the system so it wouldn't throw a check engine light. Since the AEM has been completed the pump is covered under the extended warranty. I hate to think what else might show up.

Strange that that did not show up earlier when they were installing the updates - at least the system hack.

They likely used a DEF emulator that connects to the DEF control unit instead of the pump, level sender, heater, etc., so as far as the control module is concerned everything was connected and working as it should. They didn't hack the system.

No, there wasn't an emulator. The pump was unplugged and some how the computer was was reconfigured to ignore the fact that it wasn't connected. Evidently, this is more common for the Sprinters.

FWIW, one can readily buy modified programming for the ECU. Yes, it's technically illegal but a quick search for DEF bypass or DPF delete will provide lots of options.

Im in the same, boat, took mine in April, they just finally got it in the shop September 28th, and then they still had to wait for another part, here we are, 10th October, still not done. They’ve had it since 2 Wednesdays ago. Would you mind letting me know Shelby’s number please?

OK so I sent in my paperwork *after* October 1, as instructed, since my dealer does not have all the parts for the AEM.

Per the hotline, I would then have through the end of CY 20223 to get the AEM.

Today I got this card (attached) with my VIN printed on it, saying that I have until December 31, 2022, to get the AEM and the payment. I'm confused.

My understanding is there is no deadline to get the AEM completed. The deadline was for submittal for payment.

‘the deadline for submittal for payment was extended to end of this year. Yes, the AEM can still be completed after that. Emphasis is if payment is desired, end of year is the deadline to get it done. This is per the lawyer.

I am in with the outside lawyer also for my 2013 ML which I did the update and then decided to sell after giving them inspection notice to which they did not respond, and after feeling the car would never be right. I also purchased a new 2013 S350 Bluetec (back in 2013) and have that one in the pile as well as a past vehicle that I lost my shirt on as the diesel scandal rumors started. Honestly, MBUSA has left me no desire to return to the brand. Their horrible service, their reliance on the scummy Autonation in many areas, combined with their absolute could not give a care attitude toward life long customers and repeat owners has me all done. Since the only thing they understand any more is money, lets hope this lawyer is currently showing them how pissed we really are at their stupidity and criminality.

Changing cars in this shortage atmosphere is another costly damage that the OM642 drama has caused many of us and costs real money to re enter the market today. Although I am a diesel head at heart, I bought a 2016 Audi A8L gasser.

I do not miss the drama of owning a Mercedes diesel at all.

Welcome to modern day large corporations. Its all about the money. Dont think there is any vehicle manufacturer that cares if its your first or fifth vehicle bought from them. Is sad but it is
