Wood peeling off and broken
Hi , I am new to this forum. I just picked up a 2011 e550 cabrio. The rear wood trim on the panels needs to be replaced. Can anyone tell or send me to a site on how it is done.
thanks Alfred29909

Welcome.
Are you replacing because it's faded? Here's some info on that https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...-bulletin.html
perhaps one of the files here might help https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...m-removal.html

i have the same issue. the glue fails and peels away, I removed all the strip trip from the door and dash and am looking for a replacement. doesnt have to be the same wood or even wood at all. I was thinking maybe gluing strip leather in there or a 3M style wrap to cover that area. anyone know of any products that would look nice in there?

Found the parts
Found the parts I need to replace. Part #s 207-690-07-82-2A02 and 207-690-08-82-2A02. Do I have to remove the rear seat quarter panels to install them? What tools or additional clips might I need.

Wood trim along dash pops out with pry tool. You have to get whole piece out with spring clips attached.
Trim along door is held in with retainer rings...door panel has to be removed to get to them.
Part numbers are located on back of each of these pieces for ordering..and they aren't cheap.
A cost effective alternative is remove all of the peeling wood with heat gun and vinyl wrap trim.
I went with carbon fiber and it came out great.

do you know if I have to remove the whole rear quarter panel to replace wooden trim on a 2011 cabriolet. If so, where can I get detailed instructions on how to do it. Mercedes wants $300.00 tp do it. That’s a lot of money. Do I need any special tools?

Same problem resolved
I had the same problem with my e350. My center dash wood console was peeling off. I carefully applied black silicone on a thin knife and spread it inside. When done, push the wood back into place. Some of the silicone will push out. Clean the excess silicone with a cotton swab for optimal results. I did it and unless you come close to it you can’t notice its glued with silicone.
Best of Luck 👍🏻

The upper panel, the one with wood trim, comes out as one piece. The wood is removed after the panel assembly is removed.
WIS AR68.30-4780EC is here: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-c...m-removal.html
C207 video showing door wood trim removal after trim panel assembly is removed. Iin principle is very close to the A207 cabriolet:
