Being an amateur student of psychology, this condition is a legitimate personality disorder. It actually develops fairly early in childhood. I won't go into all the Off Topic details, but FWIW people who are like this are not trying to be jerks or insensitive, it's just how they are. It is actually almost impossible for them to avoid the behavior. Overcoming this need to feel superior and defend one's self when there's no real threat is usually a very long road (Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT is one avenue for recovery). Since the results of one's behavior are seldom more serious than being irritating around others, and because most people who know people like this don't feel it's worthwhile to confront the person, most people who have this condition (I can't remember the technical name right now) never even realize how they come off to others and so they usually never seek treatment.
I bring this up only to say that arguing with a person like this will do nothing but make them push back harder and defend and puff up more. They feel that to back down would be tantamount to lying on the ground and allowing themselves to get beat to death, when they still have the strength to fight.
The above is not directed at anyone person in particular, so no one has to get offended.
I wish someone would hand me a large sum of money, then I would buy the car myself. That's the first W124 I've seen that makes me miss mine.

If you can even FIND a W124 E500 for sale and in anywhere near as good condition with no mods even with over 100K miles you will easily pay at least $25K

I am going to be buying a E500/500E W124 soon \ but i won't be able to until after i sell my condo, my credit is also shot right now so i can't get an auto loan . . . .
