Quote: I just picked up a 2011 E350 a few nights ago and just stopped by my audio guy to strip down my old system. He mentioned that he just did a few VIM bypass on a few of the 2010-2011 E's. He recommended Nav-TV which he said works 100% and takes only 15 minutes to install. No wire cutting.

http://www.navtv.com/product/120/w212vim-kit.html

Website gives full instructions on how to do the installation...but if you're lazy (or scared) like me.... just shoot me a PM and i'll hook you up with the shop information and pricing
Just found this thread. Would love to get my Video/Nav working in motion as well.

Has anyone used this specific product yet?

I was trying to find the audio streaming options in the Eng Mode but my menus are totally different then the ones I´ve seen in all users! Even in simmilar cars.
My car specs:

Europian car, more specificaly Portugal.
12/2010 W212 E250 Avangard (the one with straight day lights)
Audio 50 and media interface

Is there another hidden menu inside the eng mode? Because there is almost there is nothing that can be changed in my version of the eng mode. already tried "end call + # + 4"

I am not 100% certain but I believe the menus for the Audio 50 system are much different than the ones that are included with the HK Logic 7/Command system.

I do not know the answer to your question regarding codes. I do know that I had to de-authorize all BT devices then re-authorize and pair to get the BT Audio Streaming to show up and function. Maybe that will work for you as it did for me.

FM Frequency bandwidth change
Is it possible to change the FM Frequency bandwidth via the engineering mode? I just got myself an E250CGI from Japan which have FM bandwith from 76-90MHz. Need to change it to 87-108MHz like everybody else. Any advise/steps is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Has anyone been able to get the Bluetooth audio streaming to work between restarts, or do you still have to configure it every time you restart the car?

Apparently there is a fix on the way. My 11 E350 Bluetec connected to both phone and audio once after the initial pairing of my Iphone. The BT audio was enabled from the dealership. Never an issues after that initial set-up. My 11 E550 did not have the BT audio enabled and once I turned it on in the engineering menu it required external authorization every time I started the car. Real PITA! The phone would not connect either unless I authorized it separately as well. I ended up deleting my phone from both and then paired the phone only to BT.

When I called my SM to ask how to fix, he didn't know the functionality had even been released and was a little pissed that I knew about it and he didn't. Ended up going out to a car on the lot and walking him through the set-up to enable it so he could see for himself. He called his MB tech rep to discuss and said the tech rep acted surprised he found out about the function. Evidently they are testing some new code and haven't finalized yet. My SM explained that the Bluetecs didn't come of the assembly line until the fall and would have had the latest updates. He advised that the new software update should be out soon and he would wash the car and update the software when I he had it.

Recently picked up an '11 E63 which did not even show the BT Audio option in the COMAND menu at delivery. Had specifically asked about that functionality before arranging to have the car delivered from another dealership and confirmed that the COMAND manual has a section on BT Audio. The dealership kept the car for a day and we got it back with BT Audio fully functional. It'll automatically connect to BT Audio each time the car is started flawlessly (and even switch between phones if multiple profiles are BT synced).

Don't have the service paperwork handy but I remember that it said something about performing a COMAND software update.

Hope that helps!

I'll have to ask my dealer about this software update cuz reconfiguring it every time is real annoying. By the way, if any of you have a jail-broken iPhone, u should look at this app called BluSelect. It lets u reconnect your Bluetooth with about one click.

BT Audio is Fixed now.
Please see the link below:
https://mbworld.org/forums/4545064-post4.html

The dealer tested it with non-jailbrake iphone and Blackberry. My Iphone 4 is with iOS 4.2 with jailbrake. All are working okay. No need to do anymore authorization/de-authorization. What you need is to update the command software. In my case is to version:00090267606-001.

Good Luck.

Anyone know if there is a way to reset the ECU?

Link to the ECU thread.
https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...set-works.html

Basically without having to read the whole post...

There is a break in period on new cars... During the break in period, you're supposed to drive the car like a granny would.

On the W211, the ECU learned how you drove and adapted the cars shifting to how you drove during that learning period.

Now that I'm over the break in period, and because the ECU probably adapted to my driving like a granny, I would like to reset it.

Thanks in advance.

The BT streaming is great. It even starts and stops automatically once you turn on / off your car. Great upgrade.

I am new to the forum and want to thank everyone for their guidance. I followed the instructions to access the Engineering Menus and activated Bluetooth Audio Streaming. I also went to the dealership to have the E-Series recall work performed and asked them to update my Command software "since it keeps dropping the bluetooth signal." After the software update, I can confirm Bluetooth Audio Streaming works perfectly on my 2010 E350 and I do not need to re sync/authorize the phone when I turn on the vehicle. Both the Bluetooth phone and audio work every time I turn the car on and off and I am enjoying using both Pandora and iPod wirelessly on my AT&T iPhone 4.

I noticed the video aux on/off toggle in the HU parameters setting when I activated the Bluetooth Audio. Has anyone activated it and if so, gotten video to play through the aux input in the glove box? I do not have the correct cable to try it with my iPhone, but would like to install a video in motion dongle and play iPhone/iPod videos through the aux input if it does.

Also, the owners manual states that aux video will not work if you have a backup camera which I do. Does anyone know if their is a video in motion dongle that would allow me to use both my factory backup camera as well as aux video from an iPhone/iPod?

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Has anyone received flack from their dealer for entering the engineering menu (they would know since BT audio has been enabled)? I assume there are not warranty issues, etc.

I would also like to know if guide lines can be seen when reversing with the rear view camera. I know it's possible with older models.

thanks

Edit: Found this on the W204 forum, but haven't had a chance to confirm this would work on the W212:

Hi. Does anyone know how I can play DVD Video on the COMAND APS? Originally, video was not enabled. I went into engineering mode and enabled Video. It's able to recognize a DVD video disc and audio is playing at the background. However, there's a screen saying "In order not to distract you from the traffic situation, the picture is faded out while the vehicle is in motion." I'm at parking positon (P with handbrakes). Anyone has any idea how to get the video appear?

Please help!

This might be related to the "region code" used on many DVD's.
