I bought this reverse camera A0008202482 which is only on Fakra (LVDS) connection.Picture attached.
I bought extra extension lead and connected straight to the unit, where is described as CAM on back of unit.
Set all settings in VEDIAMO and on screen as R gear.
Still not working. What do you think do i need different camera? What type ? Number part?
You seem to know a lot. I have a 15 E350 that came with the NTG4.7 and I want to upgrade it to OEM NTG5s1 to use apple car play, mirror link etc. What do I need to buy to make it work? I know I need a new unit but do I also need the screen and cables? I can get brand new parts at whole sale price so I will just need the dealer to do it for me.

It can be VERY tricky..It must be the exact corect camera and the exact corect extension cable or the pins in it can be wrong..Tons of different ones out there.
Yes, I saw it but im still a little confused. I know it need the unit and screen and usb hub, but do I really need a new back up camera and amplifiers?
What type of camera did you use to your car ? What number was?
Was camera with LVDS connector and 8 pin socket where is +12V , ground, and can H Can L?
Does somebody know which rear view camera fit for NTG 5s1 ?
I bought new version rear view camera A0008201203 with fakra connection and power pins and can connection. Still have problem connect it.

Thats ok. May need different cable fakra but does not should i connect with camera if is connected via can and power supply without LVDS data cable?
I still cant see camera under Vediamo software as RVC218 only i can see is HU5S1.
Anyway is it right type of camera with power supply CAN connection and LVDS or should be any different one ?

chris. some questions since my car setup is a bit different.
1) i have amg performance media (sa code 255)- obviously it self is a media box that output all command information to the screen. and the interface is triggered by pressing "amg" button close to the climate control panel; that means it normally display whatever a ntg4.7 command displays, and can be switched to amg menu which display more information like transmission oil temp. gravity sensor info and tracking info
--> if i retrofit to the new 10.5 inch screen, will it be possible to display somehow these information? i guess that the 10.5 inch screen can somehow support as a video out screen in this case？(when i need to trigger amg menu)
if not, i just want to know it
2) there is a comand 5s1 cluster info converter on you website. - mind to add more information to that? the reason i am interested is i retrofitted W166 OEM HUD on my W204, everything works fine(since HUD ONLY get display information from cluster) but i can not setup it (there is no HUD menu in W212/204 cluster) i dont know if adding your comand 5s1 converter can help (without changing the head unit to 5s1)

I have retrofitted NTG5s1 in my CLS 218, the car is equipped with night vision option code SA 610 from the factory, it was working fine on NTG4.5, now in the new comand NTG5s1 it does not work and does not show anything when I press on the night vision button
My 2016 COMAND NTG 5s1 retrofit into my 2010 W207.

What 2016 parts was needed SO FAR to do this retrofit from NTG4 to 5s1:
1. Comand 5s1 big version with built in HD navi
2. Screen
3. Video cable to screen
4. Repinning of cables in sockets
5. LAN antenna
6. H/K Amp
7. Camera and cablekit
8. Screen frame
9. New joystick with 4 buttons
10. Pincode
11. Maps with activation code
I am experimenting alot with programming and activating of menues. I got the AMG logo to start it of. And alot else so far.
So ALL that works now but
only PROBLEMS so far:
Navigation dont get a speed signal. So maps stop moving when it loses satelites.
Media dont showup in cluster. All else show up and work. Radio,Navi.phone...
AMG dails, then middle big one dont work. Guess it is also speed signal issue.
Camera dont send video
After reading this post, I was also inspired to do the same for my 2013 C207. My installer has attempted to upgrade NTG4 to NTG 5*1 but is unable to get any sound to the speakers. He has replaced the amp with 2014 model and 2015 model but still no sound. He is now ordered a 2016 amp and is waiting for delivery to install it in the car. Besides this, what else could you suggest as possible reasons for the lack of sound? Thanks in advance for your help.

as it is coming from a Retrofit NTG4.5 to NTG5s1; it should change the CAN-G, to the CAN E!...Why NTG5S1 Camera Needs Electric Steering whell
I know this thread is for NTG5s1, but I am curious what it would require to update my 2012 W218 cluster and comand (tan/brown graphics) to the 2013/14 variant with black/red graphics? Any sold info on this for the early W218's out there?
