Lightbulb Sway bar- thoughts?

Id like to get tighter turns on my w212- was thinking of adding a sway bar- what are your thoughts?
how hard is the install- easy enough for a nube?
what would be an avg budget for part and labour you would estimate?
Thanks

Well actually Mercedes had the same idea and beat you to it.

Your car already comes with sway bars both front + back.

If you don't like your sway bars you can upgrade them to more sporty models of your liking.

Cross-referencing part numbers for your particular chassis may be challenging.

Hope this helps.

Thank you

That’s pretty awesome let me see what I can find- how is it simple to reach - unscrew and screw a new one in- or is there a lot of digging I have to do to get to the sway bars?

These torsion springs are fairly exposed easy to reach at the bottom near the wheels.

Better suspensions are a great idea. MB offers many styles suspension on different chassis.

Not sure if your model is offered with a "Sport" option like my C350 Sport. If you have the Luxury option, you may want to see what the Sport option offers, just to keep everything factory. It would really help if you list the year of your car and where you are in the world.

I only swapped in a bigger sway bar on one vehicle. Otherwise I had good luck with urethane bushings and links made with rod ends, Both tighten it up so the bar can do it's thing rather than those parts flexing and taking away from it.
Not sure how the Benz is setup under there, I never payed attention to mine, but maybe that's worth a try?

I’m sure replacing bushings will be a lot easier than the entire sway bar.

Yes, these bushings come with swaybar or nothing.
We are not supposed to be able to service bushings in all simplicity without a big tab.

I happen to know there are different diameters of W212 sway bars the bushings of different size must work with.

Finding good SB Bushings would be awesome... front & back swaybars, right

Swaybar diameter by duty classes:
SPORT/LUXRY
RWD/ AWD
V6/V8/TT

You don't need to get squeezed for the whole complete new swaybar being out of stock.

I think some creative people using diameters where able to find replacements bushings only.

I have not delt with that myself

The part number for my SL400 is A2313201411, which is not helpful here. I am curious what the part number is for the SL550 or others. The one thing I found interesting is that it is tubular. Saves weight while being just as effective a a solid bar.

Not sure if this is your exact model, but you can see that there are multiple bars available.

You may want to consider upgrading your wheel/tire combo first. Lowering the center of gravity of your vehicle with lower profile and wider tires will help cornering.
