Again I am sure some 'very honest dealer' gave someone the inside scoop about how there are only 80 per year and therefore the mark up they are charging on the 2019 is 'fair'.
So less than 2 per month for a Canadian dealer. About the same per US dealer, that's why there is a markup. Also doesn't break out G 550 vs G 63.

With 52 dealerships across CDN, this seems a credible estimate.

The only reason I would buy a G63 is that it retains it's value. At those prices, you'll lose more than a Range Rover after 1 year.
my urus only cost a little more then that … fully
Loaded , exhaust…. Just no carbon. I’ve been on a waitlist for the 73…. But with those prices I ended up with an Escalade for a daily. Spending 300k for a MB Is hard when Bentley , Lamborghini and even rolls isn’t far off

I did the same thing. Sport Platinum Escalade with supercruise, can't think of a better daily for the price.

It's funny how that post of mine aged lol... I ended up going for a new 2021 G63.

I'm SO glad I did... I've driven the Urus and the Cullinan and I would choose the G63 each time over and over again. It's a completely different animal. The presence is unmatched. The feeling you get driving this machine is unmatched. The Cullinan does drive much smoother, but I can't get over the looks of the car. Doesn't sit well with me. Urus looks decent but beside the G63, it's like a little brother. To each their own, but G63 is my new favourite truck.

Resale value

RR, Lambo, snd Bentley dealers want to sell at MSRP but resale value drops so much.
G is the the only car which sells at MSRP or higher now. RR is notorious for losing value but I think that people who can afford spending 400 to 500k on a car wouldn't mind losing 40% of its value.

I keep reading this but used Urus are listed for above sticker whenever I look on eBay.

I've noticed that too but all the ones I've seen have had like 1000 miles or less on them usually. I'd like to see what a Urus would cost that has 25,000 miles on it.

2019 G63's with 25,000 miles on them are still listed above MSRP.

Escalade is a great daily… no complaints in the sport platinum…and we needed 1 vehicle for its size.

I love my urus but only drive it really on weekends…unfortunately I really can’t bring it to my office. allows me to take my wife and daughter with me. I love the urus because when in corsa mode it becomes another vehicle or strada where it’s calm. You can customize it to make it pretty luxurious.. Right now most urus are above msrp as Lamborghini announced its a 12-18 month wait to build it. Lamborghini forums have been blowing up about that.

the RR had a really nice interior but I couldn’t like the outside looks either.

I would love a g wagon. I’ve been on the waitlist for a 73 or 63s E what ever it’s called. Now with everything going on who knows how long this will wind up being.
Honestly the G and urus are two completely different suvs. Really not meant to be cross shopped. I love the rugged look of the G especially in a matte paint

my dad has the new bentayga speed and absolutely loves it.

One came thru auction last month with 49k miles brought in $216k. I'd say Urus values are holding steady for now. Will be interesting what happens to G63. I predict the V8 will resume production with or without the EV crap at that time it may get the MBUX and then we see the bubble pop. Same with Urus when the Urus Evo is released.

Yes, it is amazing what GM is able to deliver for $130k or so. The 6.2 has its own personality. Not sure if you have peeked under the car, the engineering and build quality is quite impressive. The cooled seats are the best in the business and the 36 speaker AKG sound system makes daily duties very enjoyable.

Is there something in particular that turns you off on using the Urus daily or to work? Curious as I’m thinking of getting a Urus for daily driver. Not giving up my G though.

the cooled seats really are the best! They actually work! And the platinums leather has been upgraded big time ! I’m still playing with the speakers. I like the 6.2. It may not be as fast as a 63 but it gets you there

Driving it as a daily is great on the suv perspective. The reason I don’t bring it to my office is for two reasons.

My office garage is pretty tight with massive yellow poles. I’m not afraid of me hitting them it’s other people hitting me.

second thing is my staff. Some people get weird with jealousy things and I rather not go down that road with coworkers. If it wasn’t coworkers I prob would drive it a lot more. It is the best suv I ever owned

What about the Cayenne turbo gt?
Less flashy despite being faster. Maybe a better DD?

My Porsche dealer has tried to get me to take one....I don't see the point....currently have a RSQ8 that is pointless, SQ8 drives better and has more useable down low torque

To be honest, I would NEVER not drive a car because of what people might think or how they would "feel".

When I was working corporate like 2 years ago, I was 25, my side business was growing, so I bought myself a F-type R AWD. It was a mean looking jag! Do you know how many stories came up behind me at the office?

- he has rich parents
- why does he work here?
- he's a show off
- he's probably here to steal clients or ideas

Guess what? All those stories got back to me and I couldn't care less. My business finally exploded, I quit that job, and all those same people that were talking, are in the exact same place.

I'm 27 now, sold that business, got a performante, now a G wagon, and I drive them everywhere. Do you know how many friends I lost since I bought the performante? Mostly all of them! Family too! But guess what, I don't care. Cars are what makes me happy and why I do what I do. We live on this planet for 80 - 90 years if we're lucky and don't die a premature death. Why on earth would I waste 2 seconds thinking about what someone might think if I drive my lambo to a family gathering? Or if I don't attend that wedding? Or if I don't say happy birthday to someone?

Sorry for the rant, lol. My point is, drive that URUS!

Well, my plans got blowed up real good.

I had planned to trade in my 2017 S63 convertible for a 2022 SL63 convertible. That obviously won't happen, at least in V8 form. Any guesses as to whether there will be an SL of any kind by late this year or early 2022? A 6 cylinder SL53, or a 4 cylinder SL43, perhaps?

And if that's not happening, what about a 2022 C63 convertible? Ditch the V8 for the world's most powerful 4 pot?

Did they even announce the SL for 2022 yet?
Im guessing they may just push it back to an MY23 release. No one actually knows MBUSA’s plans for the V8 yet.

The SL 63 should be V8 actually, not sure if they will but the e Performance stuff they put in the GT 63 ePerformance. I heard there will be a SL 43 and SL 53 (that is what I heard but not official yet), not sure why they need 43 when there is a 53 (maybe it is because like you said 4-cylinder for the SL 43 and 6-cylinder for the SL 53 but 4-banger in the SL doesn't sound right, at least in my opinion)
As for the C63 convertible, at least for USA the current gen (A205) gets an extra model year (MY22 based on the A205) while the W206 takes over the sedan, W205 for MY22. There won't be a an A205 C-convertible direct successor, it will likely be replaced by a CLE instead.

To my latest understanding there will be two SL variants, a 55 and 63. Both with V8's non electric assist (at least for now). A 63e will launch later. Europe will have a smaller 6 and 4 banger, I expect us to get one of these eventually. Rumors of a 73e are out there but nothing confirmed.

I don’t know, I try to be a highbrid boost in the Porsche Cayenne recently and I was totally blown away. I put an order in immediately. I am going to walk away from the Mercedes brand for a little while until they get their act together. I think it’ll take them five or six years.

What are you waiting for MB to resolve or do? And why 5 or 6 years? Literally curious.
