SL500, ML350, 2 GL550's (on order)
I think I might have picked the wrong color (black). The silver really shows off the lines, and the front end looks excellent! I like the AMG to.

And then cleaned up the left over adhesive with a rubber grinder thing??
I imagine some wax or googone will do the trick just fine.
Then he placed the AMG badge on.......
One thing though,,
When you go to remove the AMG badge from its packaging it would help to lay a piece of tape on the front to keep everything in place being that each letter and the logo come off Separately.. that way it can be installed in one piece instead of individually...... Making for better placement!!

He took a really thin squeegee and slid it under the 4matic to loosen the adhesive..

Mileage confusion
Of all the things I like about my GL, I've got to admit that this is one of my favorite (please excuse the camera phone crappy photo);
But I had some confusion because it seemed my mileage lagged a bit. Am I driving like a twit, lead-footing it all the way? I didn't think so. Is there something else wrong with the truck I haven't noticed? Well, on last night's trip up to Flagstaff and while I was there the tire pressure warning came on a couple of times, then again this morning on my way out of town but it stayed off once I got on the highway. So I checked the hot tires after parking in my garage and lo-and-behold, they were all at 29-30 PSI! Hot! As of they'd been put at that PSI by someone intentionally (not myself). And we all know that lower PSI translates to more tire wear, greater rolling resistance and (dum-dum-dum!) reduced fuel efficiency.
Anyway, I pumped them up to the "hot" pressure that should be correct of 36PSI and will check them to see if they're over-inflated after they've cooled for a few hours. Still, even though that was the downhill MPG from Flagstaff, it's disappointing to know it COULD'VE been higher!

An actual real-time tire pressure readout on the dash would be nice, and would have helped STP in this situation. Much lesser cars have it. I wonder why MB chose to go the cheaper route. Don't they think we can handle the info?

Some questions: Did the wheel caps come standard? Was there a trailer brake controller pigtail assembly included in the delivery? See my post and similar question under the trailering thread.
Thanks!

BTW, beautiful drive you sent us on! I cannot wait to see Mark's pictures from the meet and get my PC up and running again to get my own shots and video.
Prayers out to you and your sister.

NJ, I think those aerial shots are my favorite so far. The lighting and angle on those pics really show the lines and color. Absolutely awesome.
Also wanted to take the opportunity as a newbie on this forum to say thanks to all the regulars who post. The time spent and passion felt really shows. There is a fantastic collection of info here and for someone like me it's really great. Thanks to you all!

Jack...
It's been a while since I last viewed this thread...LOVE the GL and now the obvious, your photography is impeccable
That double stitching in white is a very nice touch, maybe I should have opted for GL550 and paid the extra 30k over the Edition 10...I'm tempted to get those (or the 63 wheels)...any how enough of my "shpeal" great looking monster you got there...enjoy
