Was that too difficult of a decision for MB Corporate or CIO office when driving consumer experience is one of the core tenets of business today. I am sure that could have been done in few weeks let alone almost the year this problem has been going on.
My thoughts exactly and my SR knowns less than me. I have to educate them on status codes and all smh

Mercedes has a long way to go to get MBUX working right. Don’t hold your breath on any thing else for this year, maybe even longer.

No, they do not. Both cars are identical but nothing over the top.

As I recall the Tuscaloosa article about all of the stored inventory mentioned Electrical issues. My build is 33XXX and I seem to have more and more strange things going on.

‘Wow, those must be really old builds. I thought someone posted the vehicles sitting out on the lot won’t be reintroduced to the assembly line. Not really sure what will become of these stepchild cars.

I subscribe to Car & Driver magazine, and my father-in-law (who lives next door) subscribes to Motor Trend, so we share each issue every month. It's baffling to me that neither one has even mentioned the issues MB is having delivering these vehicles, much less written a full-fledged story about what's going on. Hell, MB could use it as an opportunity to spin some PR story about how they're making sure they're committed to each vehicle living up to the premium quality demanded by the Star or some bull****. Anything is better than radio silence while making your customers wait months on end for their vehicles.

I wrote Autoweek twice on this and it wasn't pursued. I also subscribe to C&D, R&T and the Star and...crickets. Advertising dollars are heard in the background.

I was so pissed last Friday my dealer said we might have to re order the car. And you have to wait for it all over again.

I called MB Canada and they finally say they will look into this case. And then....... of course nothing happen. Good luck everyone, it’s like the HK protests going on now. Customer relationships is no longer their priority, they need to get the numbers right for the higher up managers to stay in power.

The GLE I have on “order” from another dealer was delayed by a month because of the panorama roof. All I have is a PO number and a potential delivery date of the end of October. That is why I bought the one I have when I found it at another dealer. The one I have on order includes eABC. We will see if it ever is delivered. I have not had an update from dealer since first of July when I initiated contact. Crickets since.

Bottom line, there seems to be many reasons for production delays. I don’t think any one supplier is holding them up but probably several.

The magazines (as you noted) make their $$ from advertising. MB probably spends money with all of them hence no negative comments of the production screw-ups.
MB knows that these delays are costing them money. Any write-up may make us all feel better but accomplishes nothing in my opinion.

Don't think we will ever find out the truth regarding delays, initial thought were because of E-ABC but this isn't available in UK and mine was delayed 7 months before I bought another one.

Status Update on March 13, 2019 GLE450 Order

Update on Previous Post;

As of today 8/14/19 Netstar shows B4 with the latest entry of "PFD removed" . There are several orders with the same PFD removed comment. Anyone know what that means? My SA does not know ....

I'm not sure what it stands for, but it seem to coincide with production starting.

If a decent reporter (at the magazines or another industry media outlet, even the Tuscaloosa News) actually did some reporting and found out what was causing the delays, it would at least give us customers more information, particularly as it relates to whether we want to continue waiting for a car that may be of substandard quality. That certainly accomplishes something, IMO.

I doubt MBUSI would give the media any more information than they are giving us. And, there is no public records request!

A good reporter could get some inside info. If not from a current employee there are always those that are no longer working there. It’s not newsworthy enough and as mentioned-don’t “bite the hand that feeds you”? For now all we get is the generalized BS they tell Stock Analysts each quarter.

I have been told by an insider that there was a software issue with ALL early production 2020 GLEs and that a software fix has been completed. Therefore according to him, all newly produced GLEs are okay, but all early production GLEs need a software fix before they can be delivered. This would explain why there are so many GLEs just sitting around.

My GLE 450 4Matic delivered in May, is back in the shop after the dreaded Check Engine Light came back on! Service advisor reports that it has a faulty coolant valve which allows too much coolant to flow. He says it is a known growing problem with this particular GLE part. It will be 7 to 10 days to get a new part sent from Germany. Will all GLEs eventually need this new part to replace a faulty part? Service advisor was not sure but said possibly so!

I ordered my GLE 450 in May and it entered production this week with an end of August production date. Its pretty loaded, except no abc. Fingers crossed that I like it as much as when I test drove one back in April.

Very happy for you. Selfishly, it's super frustrating to see a May order delivered in August, while my March order sits in a lot somewhere with no known timetable for completion. And, sadly, mine wait isn't even the worst on this board, never mind nation- or worldwide.

I have wrapped my head around just waiting for my second order even if the first one is completed earlier because I no longer trust that the first order will up to MB standards.

I feel for you, but I won't receive my order until mid-September at best. Its all about parts availability.

I also wrote to C&D and MT with no response. I ordered an A Class on 1/23/19 which still hasn't been delivered. I has a great SA who procured another vehicle from another dealer. I agree that MB has dropped the ball on cusgomer communication. Joe
