The grill looks smaller to me, and maybe more ride height as well. Definitely a less aggressive version.

Interestingly Gorden has since deleted the photo. Maybe he did accidentally leak the SL43/53 himself!

You might be spot on! The lack of intercoolers means it has to be a smaller engine and design is consistent with current 43/53 models

Yep, glad to have figured out one mystery, now I just need to know more about that interior! The first reveal (before the official exterior reveal) had this same interior color (white/black combo) and has yet to be seen anywhere else in the press materials or ordering guides.

Looks like Crystal Grey (568), same as in my current car. It looks much more tech/modern then Porcelain / Beige.
Hope it will be released soon!

Monza Gray Magno looks good but not good enough for a $200k convertible... I am now torn between blue and white..

So, it looks like the yellow calipers no longer mean Ceramic Composite Brakes.

Yellow never did. AMG uses yellow for steels.
CCB’s calipers are always bronze, like yours
The exception are the AMG GT Pro and BS which use black calipers…

Those giant inserts around the rear license plate on that yellow US spec car are absolutely atrocious! I am guessing they are not easy to remove either.

I agree 100 % what were the designers thinking ! I will stay with my 2018 SL for a LONG time - it has class and is unique - no fake rear seat, no rag top either !

You can thank the DOT for those ugly bumper inserts. We have them on our GTC and you can find them on other cars including Bugattis.
Unfortunately they leave holes in the bumper when removed…

Its amazing that we have regulations outdated like this for something as simple as a rear plate guards yet Tesla can make a car with the entire top half of the steering wheel cut off with no issues.

Once you have the car you won’t care. I don’t like them either but I don’t even see them when looking at the car.
Because it’s a gorgeous car

You are right. Tesla obviously knows how to work the DOT and the EPA (range) better than other manufacturers.

I'm not sure of the purpose of the inserts on each side of the rear license plate. I have a GLA45, and no inserts were added -- just a large flat area which could accommodate U.S. or European plates.

The rear inserts aren't pretty, but front license plates, where required, have a much greater negative visual impact. Think Mona Lisa with braces. Check the front of the Sun Yellow SL63 with no front plate, and compare it to the many SLs we've seen with a front plate. I'm glad my state doesn't require front plates.

A trivial concern, of course, but something to ponder while I wait, and wait, and wait.

Its only if the plate is mounted in the lower bumper area, as well as dependent on the height of the vehicle, so most SUV's don't need it. Its based on some old stupid regulation. If you take a look at the rear of your S-Cab it actually has bumperettes as well, although not as bad as some models like my CLS which got screwed over by the US DOT.

Here's the Euro versus US Bumper treatment.

Just the thought of the Mona Lisa with braces on her teeth - has me rolling on the floor with laughter, and the HUGE Bumperettes in the back - What a mess !

Nothing to do with plate location.

Basically US regs require that cars are able to withstand a rear impact of 2.5 MPH at, I believe, 20” off the ground without any damage.
