it's been a while and i'm not going back through this thread to verify...but iirc, vrus' airbox does in fact increase volume compared to stock so there should be potential for benefit.

Hi Bleek,

I thought I saw before and after dynos as well as 1/4 mile times posted in this thread. I'm no gear-head but I think I saw a difference. Are you not buying it because of the design or............ is it just a personal thing?

I still do not have this box installed and working properly but I'm hopeful that it will make a difference once it's up and running.

As far as using different filters in the E55 for gains..................... I actually have changed out the stock filters to Green filters while at the track and I saw absolutely no difference (at least in trap speeds).

BTW- Are you still planning the big event north of the boarder? If so, I hope you share all the activities with this board. We really want to see what a "really modified E55" will do.

Your right in one sense, but what i'm saying is even though an after market box might have more volume if there is a restricted opening it still can't flow the air! Kinda like restrictor plate racing don't matter how big the carb is or how big the air cleaner assembly is the plate dictates how much volume can go in. What i am saying is for you to see real benefits, the stock bottoms of the air boxes also have to be modified or changed.

Nothing person Rocky, just stating some common sense, aftermarket boxes can flow more air as can air tubes, but think about what i'm saying here the stock bottoms have a hole only so big, so how can you get more volume into the motor. Try some K&N's or some BMC's, don't use foam!

The event up here i'd like to do, but i would rather do a match race with 55's from up here! Here i'll make it official I'LL PUT UP $20K TO RACE A CERTAIN PERSON THAT IS ALSO FROM TORONTO! We can settle all problems at the track, i'm sure people want to see my car go and would love to see this person's car go with all his gadgets and such, let's separate the men from the wannbe's. But let's not get our hopes up as there will be excuses coming out of everywhere why his car isn't ready or this and that, i'm ready whenever there guntlet tossed let's here the excuses.

Rock i'll pay for your flight to come tape the race!

I know of only one person that has recorded gains, so still not sure if there is any gains

Other then look and feel, nothing has been shown to prove gain on the road ,except for the one case.

vrus do u not have this kit installed showing data ?
or any one else when u get round to it, people still waiting on this and no I am not trying to reinstate the argument 'if u did not buy it or pay for dyno, do not ask'
Just an enthusiast that’s curious

Which would expected gains be of the VRP airtubes compared to stock on a stock engine?'

Do you have a link to your website so I can see all your 55K products?

Sorry.. I havent done one for the N/A cars.. Just not enough demand for it.. Its expensive as hell when you factor the engineering time, costs of molds, etc..

Hey Steve! Glad it made it over in 1 piece. Post some pics and let me know what you think once you've had a chance to drive around with it.

Mikey, Mikey, Mikey... Yours has been sitting waiting for you!

I put one aside for you the other day. I only paid for 10 of these Gen2 boxes and I only have a couple left (I sent 5 out to the guys who were waiting for them from the R&D group, and 2 went to dealers).. There are 3 left... After these are gone its a 4 - 6 week turnaround to run another batch.

FYI.. All 80mm Gen2 CF airboxes are sold out. The last one went to E55 Russ in Russia.

I am putting a P.O. in for 10 more sets but they will take 3 - 4 weeks. If anyone is looking for one, you can put a deposit down to hold your spot.

I have 7 sets of CF Python Airtubes now in stock ready to go and 10 sets of CF engine covers in case anyone is looking for them.

Has anyone been successful in getting the gen1 airbox onto a CL55?

I don't see how it can fit and I've been carefully monkeying with it for an hour.

The surge tanks seem just a bit too high to allow the opening to fit over the TB.
