Mounting the Renntech ELM

For those of you who have this, where did you mount it? Did you just leave it in the passenger footwell? I saw a mention of putting it in the armrest. Anyone want to share there install location? Pics? Thanks.

Mine is mounted upside down just under the glove box. The harness does not need to be extended if you do that or go in the glove box. Most other spots will need an extended harness.

the arm rest is really convenient, but I get worried of a spilt drink.

I'm about to move mine into the little container on the front of the driver's seat.

DO THE KNOBS!!! Bust most importantly, keep it out of the footwell, so you can play.

I'd like to have access to the unit but did not want anything too obtrusive. This is why I am trying to benefit from the experience of those who already have the unit installed.

I mounted mine in the center console under the cup holders. Nice little hidden compartment. Had to extend the cabling several feet but well worth it to be able to adjust easily if needed.

here is a couple snapsshots. one with the cupholder to better show location and the second with it removed since I put it right under.
sorry the pics kinda stink a little and my car is dirty! Just wanted to give a quick look.

FYI I ran the cable through a small hole I drilled in the forwrd lower section where the ELM is installed and ran the extended cabling under the center console up to the passenger wheel step where it hooks up. have any questions let me know

Yeah plenty of room...You can fit the ELM and still have a lot of space left over..

Definitely fits. the only reason I didn't go there is because i am paranoid of a liquid spill and I don't use it often enough to need it in there. Under the driver's seat was the next best for me.

I dont do a lot of drinking in the car and am typically really careful. Even if there was a spill the enclosure around the ELM is pretty tight...would take several liters of fluid and it sitting for a while to break through....
Anyway wherever you put it just keep it out of sight if you have any warranty stuff going on....
I change my settings from time to time so like not having to move out of my seat or contort my body to make changes.

The issue with mine is that mine has holes drilled in the lid to have the extended knobs show. I hate pulling out a screwdriver all the time.
