The 135 is lighter, it is the quicker car in the 1/4 when modded. Which would be why it is the choice. Regardless, whatever times it runs the 335 boys will be sure to claim for their own.

So are you in the event or not?

I have plans that I cant miss or escape from or for sure I would go up. Mexico is safe, trust me and it will take only 1 hour total to drive, run and go home. Dont worry my old E55 is going and its latest dyno's numbers are very formidable. I expect excellent numbers from all the boys going up from HMS especially Sun and Blue.
I think what happened is that it was pretty obvious "Phil" or whatever his name is was playing favorites and singled me out. Especially when that moderator uses an "owned" smiley, when in fact, the person who he decided to side with posted incorrect information. Not exactly constructive, diffusing, or maintaining a professional distance. Tough to defend your actions when you do that. That is the problem with moderators, sometimes they let things go to their head and it is impossible for them not have some sort of bias toward certain members, they are human beings after all.

I saw the 997TT driving around, I am a big fan of your 19" HRE's. The nice thing about the monobloks is that they don't look small, and actually look large for a 19.

We will have an opportunity to meet up at the next event hopefully.

There are a few guys going out on Friday, I know a couple of the M5 guys are.

Are you looking for something cheap just for a night or something higher end? Bakersfield actually has a decent selection of places to stay.

So are you in the event or not?
No, I got a PM that they will let me know if someone cancels. But in all reality, I am going to Sacramento next weekend when I go to visit my brother. This will be in the slower coupe which has only run a 12.06 at 116.5mph. But I have better tires this time, so I am pretty sure it will be in the 11's without any difficulty.

I'm sure we can also run the canyons soon too. Even though it looks slow on video, you can see I had no problem hanging with this Lotus Group:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTGFD...eature=channel

It is kind of cool, drag racing on Saturday and then hitting the canyons the next day. Again if you would like a video of your M3 leaving me through the corners, hit me up! I would be curious as to how much of a beating I would take through the corners anyways.

We have gone over the Lotus thing, your 335 is not a lotus killer. If you want, sometime we can go to an actual track event, that way we have a safe environment large enough for your ego.

At least you aren't asking me to pay for your spot anymore

Best of luck at Sacramento, I'm sure you will hit the 11's, and I'll offer up a congrats when you do.

Best of luck for you too, I hope you can also get into the 11's. It would be nice to have someone on the west coast having the quickest M3 also.

As far as 135i BMWs go. There are way more 335i BMWs that run in the 11's than 135s. I think Terry's is the only one that hit 11's. And FYI, last time we ran the same time at the same track, his trap was only about 1mph faster than my tune only 335i, even with all his extra mods. Many magazines have also shown quicker times for the 335i. And finally, the 135i seems to dyno a little less than the 335i. Probably because it doesn't have a true dual exhaust system like the 335i.

Which canyon is that? the one off the n14 freeway and placerita canyon rd?

If so i just went the 24 miles through that in my lowered sway bar linked jeep srt8......but i wasn't prepared...i had two friends, a cooler with 6 bags of ice, 5 gallons of race gas and my helmets so everything was flying around...the day got cancelled at fontana so we saw like 10 wrx's headed that way but we filled up first and figured if they stopped first we could catch up but nada....long gone tho

when you going again? i think i can hang!!!

I think his 135 dyno's more than his 335, doesn't it?

Second of all, on an inline six why would a dual exhaust make more power? A single exhaust is less complicated and lends itself better to tuning with that design.

The 335 didn't get a dual exhaust because of performance, but for aesthetics.

All I know is it is harder to replicate the 200 pound difference of the 135 in the 335 than it is for the 135 to replicate the 335's power.

Yes it does.

Ed (blue) has taken it to the next level though. Evosport built my car back when modded E55's werent so popular (2004) and clearly then it was a level above other similar modded E55's. But with what he has done (Ill let him tell you Saturday) I would expect the car to run the best its ever done in times and traps.

Vic, your car was already one one of the fastest 55s around. I thought you had almost every available mod done to that car except for cams, heads, and maybe NOS..... has he done more? This just makes this event that much more exciting

WagonTom and I both got rooms at the Ramada in Bakersfield for Friday night since we're driving in from Las Vegas. I think it was $65-85/room. T minus 30 hours and counting until we hit the road to Cali.

Good deal.... most hotels in Bakersfield are only 30 minutes away from the track in McFarland, so it's definitely a good option if you're coming from far away. Another good hotel in a nice area of town and not too expensive is:

Homewood Suites by Hilton
1505 Mill Rock Way
Bakersfield, CA 93311
