Well yes anything is possible if we can build it for that specific use but not in this instance, these are already made and being tested so just enjoy it

That's definitely one way to do it. The easier way is taking the upper rad support off and moving the fan up slightly so that you can get an impact extension in there. Took me 20min to do mine. I like the idea of making it interchangeable and that design actually doesn't seem that complicated.

We don't pull any motor mount bolts, we just jack the motor up and use a extension. Pulley change=5 mins.

You don't have to do any of that. I could change my pulley in about 15 minutes, start to finish. Might be able to do it faster than that if I tried. No jacking up engine, no touching motor mounts. Like Adianity said, remove the upper radiator support, pull the fan up and then slide extention/socket throught it and take pulley off.

Cake.

You need an impact, either battery powered or air or you are dead in the water.

Like mentioned earlier, the piece that goes across the top of the radiator from one side of car to the other (radiator support) has a section in the center that can be unbolted (about 3 feet long maybe?). There are a few bolts on each side and then a few in the center around the hood latch, undo all those and remove that piece.

There are 2 clips, one on each side of the top of the radiator/fan shroud, remove those and then pull the fan up. You will have to move it around the radiator hoses which is a little tricky but not hard, just have to force it around and up. Pull that up far enough so you can see through a hole in the shroud to the pulley bolt.

Take an extenion (as short as possible to retain as much torque as possible) and the correct size socket and slide it through the fan shroud on to the pulley. Put your impact on the socket then grab the magnet of the supercharger (black thing behind pulley) and hold it with one hand while you hit the impact to loosen the bolt. You may have to hit it in reverse then back to tighten to break it free then go loose again and it should come off.

Pry the pulley off, it may come easy, it may need some persuasion and then put the new pulley on (and probably a few shims) and put everything back together.

Easy breezy.

I have seen some fans not move and if they did the clips broke so to avoid that did the jacking up of the motor, I'm curious as to cougar jacking up the motor without taking out the screws..

Literally put a block of wood under the oil pan and jack the motor up, done it on several cars(E55'S) and it works like a charm.

Quite honestly, why wouldn't you remove the lower bolts? You just jack it up and streach the mounts? It takes 2 seconds to pull the bolts.

Don't need to. It doesn't damage the mounts, so why do the extra step?

I don't understand why anyone does any of this

It is so easy doing it the way I did it. No jack, no climbing around on the ground under the car.

I haven't installed it yet but here is a picture of my current project. Its a hub system that will allow pulley sizes from the stock 3.6" all the way down to 2.7" (for every .1" decrease in pulley diameter, boost increases approximately 1.2lbs)

Plan on putting it on as soon as we get warmer weather.

Tech tune, that unit looks amazing. That would really be a game changer for our crowd along with Shardul's unit. who is making your hubs and pulleys? The perpendicular grooves in the ribs reminds me of billetflow, but the face is different.

Even tho the piece does look nice/and will give improvements, I don't think Id be ready to give away a key safety feature. Just my opinion

His pulley can be installed without removing and disassembling the front of the blower, making the install quite simple.
I wish mine were a straight bolt-on, but some fab work needed to be done in order for it to fit the hub.

The magnet is heavy but its NOT rotational mass. The plate that covers the magnet is the part that rotates along with the pulley and it does not weigh as much.
If I remember correctly the magnet, plate, hub and stock pulley weigh 13.xx lbs
I don't remember the pulley's weight, I'll check when I get home.

Reason for EDIT: Needed to correct the information I posted

When Dave gets back from Mexico we'll take the car into the shop and do the same.
