Put the gates HD 505 belt on tonight...
Nice green belt

It took about 2 minutes, can't believe the dealer charges for this...

My s/c seems pretty noisy on the snout... The dealer even noted the noise the last time in the shop

Any ideas on noise?

dang, no worries - I got the Gates K080505HD V-Belt $32

my old one didn't look bad but I've got at least 15-18k on it so I swapped...
17mm wrench and a really thin allen wrench and 2 minutes DONE!

the other drive belt looks to be a real PITA though...

tight - as in cool looking, right?

I thought I'd have a heck of a time stretching the belt onto the pulleys like it was so much smaller but the tensioner moves a hell of a lot when you wrench it

2006 CLS55 & 2002 SL55 (R129) Silver Arrow
When mine was making a weird noise it was because the smaller SC pulley's spring had cracked and the pulley was grinding up against the magnet plate.
Might wanna check yours in case that's the problem

that belt looks pretty until it gets dirty and tood i cant believe you still don't have the idler pulley kit

I don't see why the pulley would be adding to the noise, bearing looks solid - maybe a spring is cracked underneath the pulley where I can't see?
