Thanks. For now, pulling fuse F37 results in a diag message "display error" and one scroll down takes you to the normal odometer / MPG tracking screen. There is an independent shop by me with some other s/w. They are checking with the s/w company they use ( supposed to have all the same function as Star) and letting me know if they can disable completely.

Guys is removing compressor easy? Was going to take mine out but air lines going towards motor. Any instructions on removing pump? I'll look at mine again but seemed like more stuff than just removing 3 bolts to take out.
Thanks.

I decided to leave everything in my car in case a future owner wants to put it back to airmatic. Personally, I don't know why they would though.

Followed the recommendation of setting 20 on the BC Racing Coils. I think I could get used to it but it's slightly harsher that I like. 15 didn't seem to have have enough rebound control so I am going to try 18 next and split the difference.

Why didn't I do this conversion sooner? Car is essentially what I would have thought it should be from the factory. It's a firm yet forgiving ride with all the mush taken out. Car is much more nimble with way less body roll, it feels lighter now too.

Unbelievably happy with this conversion

I've been running 20 clicks front/rear for several months now. Still not quite as much rebound control as a I would like but I am used to the ride and it's still very comfortable. Have been thinking about going to 25 but just haven't gotten around to messing with it.

Since they are not "factory", there is no factory setting. 20 clicks in from full soft. There are 30 clicks in total. I started at 10, way to soft, went to 15 which was better and someone else here said he was running 20 so I went to that. A little firmer might be better but I am happy enough with the ride where it is so I haven't bothered to mess with it.

Will need the camber correcting arms and toe links. Something I plan on soon.

ok guys.... I'm stumped here. I realize to raise the rear is a PITA but say I need to raise it because I'm way too low. Can I ask what tool you guys used to put the spring and coil back in after you have the desired height?

I'm assuming you are using a spring compressor to get this to go back in. I had a hard time putting it back in after my adjustments. Unfortunately I need to take it off again and raise 1" more.

I had the swaybar disconnected on both ends, rear toe disconnected and the strut out so I have room to push the spring and coil back in. With this I still was struggling to put it back in and that was w/ me pushing the hub down as much as possible.

Thanks guys

loosen your control arm from the subframe, put spring and shock back in then jack up the control arm until you can tighten it.

In my CLS 55 pulling the fuse doesn't work I still have the visit workshop with the car logo on the dash

oh WOW. thanks brother. I didn't even think of that. Loosen the top bolt close to where the spring is now right?

thanks for the heads up. I was looking at purchasing a tool to compress the stink'n spring I'll have to play w/ this on the weekend.

Thanks a lot

Yes the bolt Holding your control arm to the subframe. you'll take it right out so the control arm drops (Most inward toward car, then you can just slide the spring in and jack it up from underneath

Are the non air ride control arms just a different length? Or a totally different shape? I'm looking to buy control arms and toe arms from an e55

Into the hub? Attach control arm to subframe attach all arms to hub grease it and pry up and down once you have a small gap through the bolt hole use a punch and it will start to work its way in.

Major props to Bc Racing! They replaced my coilovers after 3 years of hard driving and track days and lots of fun! Best team I have worked with to date! Can't wait for the new coilovers to get here!

Amir,

Pat in Nashville here. I just finished installing my BC coilovers on the front today. Starting the rears tomorrow. What happened to yours that required you to get a new set? Doesn't bode well for the future to hear that.

Also, Not sure why, but I could only lower one side of my car to 25" (ground to top of wheel arch). The other side had more to give. I equalized both struts prior to installing, but was an inch lower on one side before adjusting. Got both sides within 1/8" now, but confused as to why one side bottomed out and the other side had more to give.

Pat
