At the time it was combined in a hi-cube container with furniture and household stuff. I checked recently on the cost of shipping it to the port of Ft. Lauderdale which was about $1500.00.
If you are planning to stay in Europe for more than 6 weeks, it's actually less expensive than renting a car for the same period.
I think I mentioned it in this or another threat. PM with your VIN and what parts you want to have replaced and I'll check with my source. I helped others before getting them in between 2 and 7 days. Shipping from my location to you is probably not covered if you go through the claim though. But perhaps better than waiting 6 months
Just to update, our dealership last week received several E55/CLS55 COMPLETE assembled tanks (meaning fuel filter and pumps installed) , including mine. They have been on order for a couple months. For those that are waiting, the complete assembled tanks are starting to show up. Curiously we had one car a month or so ago, that ran poorly after the tank/pump was replaced. We found out one of the 2 pumps was wired backwards inside the tank-causing the pumps to fight each other. The new tanks that just arrived come with a wire harness to correct the wiring of one pump-it swaps the wires positive-negative. I'm not sure what's going on, but I don't want to unseal the tank to find out, I will just use the provided harness or more likely swap pins on my existing wiring to the pump.
Got a full tank of gas Friday and got code P0456 yesterday. I pulled the seat and there's some gas pooling on the passenger side. taking it to my dealer tomorrow and see how it goes.

Yep. I'm not sure if the error was discovered after all the tanks were assembled by the vendor, and they didn't want to open them all up and have to pressure test them again?? Or ??? A simple pin swap from the car side of the harness is all that is needed. But then, they'd have to update all the wiring diagrams. German Engineers. Who knows...
Did I mention the adapter harness is over 2 feet long?????
So I took my car in Thursday. I talked with my SA today and he advised that my issue is covered by the extended warranty. The car should be ready by Tuesday
Took my car in weds, picked it up thurs. Not one charge to me. Filled it up the brim today and have yet to smell fuel. Will check further tomorrow. Got to clean the carbon off of a 2015 C300 loaner during the duration. 4matic, turbo inline 4 etc...
I just purchased an e55 and the previous owner had the fuel pumps replaced for the same reason, paying out of pocket. LOoks like the purchased the pumps from the dealer and had another shop do the install. would he/I be due for a reimbursement from MB?
Yes. Bring everything listed on back of official MB letter to a dealership. Takes 2 weeks to get a check in the mail. I did it the same way. Indy installed it, went to MB, 20 seconds later out the door, 2-3 weeks later check in the mail.

Well the seller is someone I'd split it with, so is it made out to him since he completed the fix, or to me the new owner? Regardless having them replaced played a part in me purchasing the vehicle.
