Yes go hassle them.

My car STILL is not fully fixed, despite two visits to the dealer and over 6 weeks of time without my car. Looks like I'll be bringing it back yet again, as I'm getting a red warning on the dash about a fuel pressure leak.

Sold - 05' E55

I'm told it will be completed today - I dropped it off Tuesday, so three days.

Don't hassle, go to someone else. Nothing takes that long. They have centralized warehouses and usually ship stuff overnight from Germany into the world either directly to the dealer it to centralized warehouses in the destination country (don't ask me how these high shipping fees are compensated for).

My mechanic always has the pumps in stock because he prepared himself for this scenario once he new about it years ago. I can't tell you how long is too long exactly but 3 weeks is a no go. If you carefully read threats on forums, there are still dealerships out there that claim they haven't even heard about this whole mess and aren't taking cars in for a warranty repair.

Does every dealership work with the same warranty company to refund?

It's not a warranty company, MBUSA is the one that extended the warranty so any MD dealer can help you.

It's not an extended warranty company. It's MBUSA who deals with it.

Did you receive the letter in the mail? If so read it again and you will see that any dealer can do it and if you go through an Indy shop you can provide adequate documentation about the repair and you will receive a check in the mail. You have to provide the paperwork to a dealership though (that's how I did it).

If you didn't receive it, user Konigstiger posted it online here on this forum.

Ya I saw it but, I brought it to the dealership and he said that the warranty company said no, he didn't even give a reason, so he told me he can't do anything and it's mbusa, so I did an online chat to document everything and they say that it must state fuel smell or fuel leak and mine says both, so they directed me back to the dealership. So at this point thinking about going to another dealership. Giving me the run around, both mbusa and dealership

This is a bad dealership. Either they don't wanna deal with it or they don't know for whatever reason. I wasn't there so I can't take either side but not knowing ill out something that is official business is always a red flag for me - with any business and any situation.

Here in San Diego, MB of SD didn't wanna go that route either. Claimed it was already done on the car and won't be done a second time for free. I asked to show documentation since they claimed they actually did it. He refused to show me. Instead they found other things that need repair in addition worth north of $5k. I declined, thanked them for giving us a 2015 C300 for a whole week and went back to my trusted Indy shop. He fixed it, told me his mechs it's brother is a SA at MB of Escondido and to go there with the paperwork for reimbursement. It took him literally 15 seconds from hello to I'll take care of it. He made a mistake in the submission of the paperwork and cause the run around and I forgive him for that. End of story is 3 weeks later and 3 phone calls later to MBUSA and MB of Escondido we received the check for reimbursement. Later we went back to MB of SD and asked to speak to a higher up to explain to them how messed up their work ethic is. They like to find problems over the years that are non existent and like to replace perfectly fine parts. Only reason we went there first over my Indy friend's shop was we hoped to not even pay up front (just in case someone wants to question it).

Ya, I even asked what was the issue and he had no answer and directed me to mbusa and they say it's not their issue. I'll go to another dealership. This is bs, paid is paid, this is going against the settlement.

Report it to the BBB! Many people go by what they report and their rating. If enough people would do that some dealerships would probably go belly up just because of their ignorance, greed and bad customer service attitude.

The receipt is clear.

Fuel smell in cabin and fuel pooling on pumps and senders.
Parts changed fuel pump and fuel sender, gaskets etc.

My guy even gave me a discount which was written on receipt, lol

Just heard from my local MB and they said that the parts are on back order and that I am one of five waiting. Apparently the ETA on the back ordered components is 9/22/15!!!

wow that's nuts. My buddies E55 still isn't fixed and is leaking fuel, despite two repairs at the local dealer.

Start looking for other dealers. Or contact me via PM and don't forget your VIN and meaningful subject line. I have a feeling my PM inbox will explode after this post.

I might be able to actually get your parts in quickly.

Car had to go in to replace both front airmatic struts and I mentioned my issue with not being able to fill my tank above 3/4 tank full otherwise I had a strong odor of gas inside and outside my car and they replace my tank and many other fuel components and it was 100% covered by mercedes no questions asked!!

There are two pumps. The fuel sender and the fuel pump itself.

I suspect the German dealers are not aware of this fix. I'll post up the information next month as soon as I find out. It would a great to know we had the latest/greatest setup with a 15 year warranty.
Back in Germany. Showed local dealer the MBUSA letter re tank assembly replacement and the MB part number. They checked with Daimler who authorized the the complete replacement as it is W211 with a US VIN and not registered in Germany. Since I replaced the pumps and filters last year and have never had a problem before or after (never used ethanol laced fuel), I see no reason to fix what ain't broken as I have a 15 year warranty on the new pumps.

BTW, the problem I had with inaccurate display of the fuel level was the new, latest and greatest fuel pump module had the power connector 180 degrees from the old unit. As I took a photo of the original installation, I dutifully had replaced the original retaining assembly with the connector in exactly the same position as the original. This caused the pump module to sit at an angle in the tank. Flipped the retaining assembly around 180 degrees and presto, perfect fuel level display. This seems to have also solved the occasional fuel starvation problem.
