Mercedes-AMG Rolls Out 50th Anniversary G63

Hot, limited-edition 50th Anniversary G63 features host of unique add-ons.

Every major milestone deserves a special honor, or two, or three — depending on its significance.

Now, how one chooses to celebrate those major marks in history might vary depending on one’s level of excitement about the affair. But since we’re talking about Mercedes’ 50th anniversary, it goes without saying it should be something extremely special.

We imagine that is exactly what prompted this 50th Anniversary Limited Edition AMG G63, even though it’s being built exclusively for the Japanese market. The unique features include a Mauritius Blue paint job, a black front bumper, and black 20-inch AMG wheels. The SUV is also accented with black wheel arches, wing mirrors, rear bumper, spare wheel cover, and a black roof.

Inside, the limited-edition Mercedes SUV is available with the option of four different leather interiors. They include one in black, one with black and tan, one with black and brown, and also a black and cream interior combo.

Hot, huh? No, it’s definitely not for the more traditional G-Wagon buyer, if there really is such a thing. But the special AMG G63 is quite the statement, particularly if you like detouring from the norm.

As you might expect, the special-edition model has been limited to 50 units. Cost? Roughly $195,000 USD, which is still less expensive than the AMG G65, which carries a sticker price of $220,400. Though, the G65 is likely to hold more of its exclusivity value down the road.
