it might just be my imagination...but it seems like the license plate bulbs are getting yellower...im not sure if this is possible but it just feels like they used to be a lot more white...is it all just in my head? or maybe its due to the cover being dirty?

I'll have to check mine, I think mine actually might be doing the same...I'll check it out tomorrow night...I would love to do LEDs but dont wanna splice wires. Is there any way of adding resistors without splicing wires?? I would need a diagram or a DIY. This is why they say to stay away if unsure...

Kevblah was right when he mentioned that the bulbs from biospeedster were becoming yellowish than opposed to the original bright white....
Just the other day one of the bulbs went out. I noticed the plastic on the top of the license light assembly (on the inside) was a little melted. There is no damage, you can just tell it was very hot. The other side, which had not blown, was not melted at all.
Now that I need to change the bulbs again, I'm stuck on what to get. I wouldnt mind trying regular dyed glass bulbs, maybe a light bluish. Just not sure where to get these. I would love to try LEDs but dont know how to get at the wires and don't know what size resistance to get or where to get the resistors. I can't believe I'm asking this after reading this thread a thousand times, but maybe someone has tried something new at this point.
Isn't the bulb a 6418...a bought 2 of those bulbs from autozone just so I don't get pulled over for not having any at all, but they are kinda small. These bulbs are definitely smaller than 39mm am I right??

remember, this has been going on for a loooooooong time, way before you and kevblah even got your cars, or even got your licenses for that matter.

Where did I say that I know everything? I certainly don't...thats why I'm a member here, to learn about my car as I go. And I certainly have respect for the members who have been here for longer than I have and have done more things to their car. Theres no need to argue, I thought I was asking a legitimate question, and I posted something that some people would want to know.

but, restating the obvious and reiterating what has gone on for a while really isn't that informative.

and i have read through all of this thread, and most of it is just people trying a lot of new methods...all failing. i dont think there is a single person that had a fail-safe method of implementing LEDs into the reverse bulbs that could be easily attainable. forgive me if i'm wrong, but until someone comes out and posts a DIY on led's in reverse lights, i dont blame luxuryc240 for asking questions, because i, along with other less inclined with resistors, would love to do this mod

im assuming you're referring to me, because im the only other person that was really active on this thread before this skirmish broke out...

luxuryc240 didn't ask a question, he made a statement that was made and confirmed many times.
btw, I know you meant license plate bulbs on your reply, but just for your edification, LED's on reverse lights have been done and are working properly and are quite easily--see e1000's post.

I'm not just referring to this single post. I'm referring to almost 90% of your posts where it's basically you posting like you've found something new and you've just struck upon gold when in reality it's been posted and discussed to death on this board (e.g. the key thread or your "S-Class" tails).
luxuryc240 didn't ask a question, he made a statement that was made and confirmed many times.

and yeah, but im not the only one, i know that doesnt make it right, but my "New S-Class LED Tails In" threads with pictures arent any different than the "New CF Lip Put on" or "Lowered with Rims".....it's a new part for my car, and everyones car is different, maybe i'm the only person with a silver w203 that has s-class tails and maybe other members with silver cars are curious about how it'd look....just my 2 cents, not retaliating against anything you said...
i admit, the key was wrongly posted...but the other threads are all stuff that looks different on every car

yesterday i went thru most of the post that says anything about changing license light to LED and i saw this picture of resistor that i could get from local radioshack.
http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search
so i went to radioshack on the way home thinking that finally i could put LED on license light.
boy was i wrong
the resistor i bought from radioshack is way too BIG to install it on either LED itself or housing
![wall](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/banghead.gif)
so i just gave up on installing LED on license light and i ordered this instead
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...6713655&rd=1,1
and while i was at it i changed dome light to 8 LED(white,on the pic. it looks bluish) and door light to 6 LED(blue).
and somehow i cant get backseat light cover off
so that i would have to do it on sunday when rest of the bulb comes in.
i added some picture that i just took with camera phone.
i will try to take better picture when all the bulbs are changed to the way i intended.

Do your led dome lights function perfectly? even when the car is off?
