M272 Turbo is going to go down
Hey fellow w203ers,
After trying to find a way to mount a turbo and taking off parts I decided there is no way I am able to put a turbo up front. That's just impossible, even if I relocate the radiator fluid reservoir there is no possible way. So I decided to make it more simpler and do a rear mount.
The way the rear mount works is the long tube acts as an inter cooler. I don't want to get rid of my exhaust so I decided to get a Front Mount Inter Cooler and put the turbo in the mid section (maybe where the resonator is).
I'll keep you guys updated.
P.S. I got in contact with another turbo guy. He said he'll get back to me. He is a well known guy mostly in the east coast. He is here now in west coast. Name is Turbo Joe.
More info to come

Thanks guys, I'll definitely keep you guys posted on the turbo setup.
Patrick, What momma don't know won't hurt her. I'm not gonna come and talk to you. Last time I came talked to you your computer was messed up and all I remember is I was trying to fix it and this white towel being forced on my face and after that I woke up on your couch with a sore a$$ hole. You blamed it on the couch saying it's uncomfortable but I could have sworn it was something else.
Negro, i'll tell Joe you said Waz Up.
Superbee and Mike, Thanks, yup it's been too long and too many questions. It's time to get down to business
Trey, i'll get pics soon. Recently I had a family emergency and they are still with my little cousin. I have to go pick them up. I called him yesterday and they are doing fine.

Trey, I was actually thinking of doing something like this.
What do you think?
---------------------------------
Update:
Turbo setup is going to go down for sure. Got some money from client (more harder to get money than to do the actual work lool)
Before I get into the setup I want everyone to know that hearing the word turbo shouldn't scare you. I was scared at the begging but after I found out some more info I am pretty confident about this setup (especially rear mount) and i'm surprised why a lot of people don't do it for extra power. Compression an issue? Put a thicker gasket and you can boost 10 easily (atleast that's what I heard lol)
Before I begin my write up I have a question. I got a "Continuous camshaft adjustment (right): Incorrect position of exhaust camshaft (P0015)" Anyone know if this is a big issue?
I also disabled the seat belt chime. Finally I won't get annoyed when my idiot friends sit in the car and not wear their seat belts.
-----------------------
So as I mentioned there is no way to mount the turbo where the resonator is. No room whatsoever. So we decided the ONLY safest place is where the muffler is. Depending on the setup we might put a snorkel by the left rear fender
Here are some pics of under the car. As you guys can see no room by the resonator. Muffler is going to go
Hey Frank I changed the back wheels and I noticed I put the front ones wrong too. You can see in this top pic of the thread looool
I'll change that soon lool
Turbo guy is not that familiar with Mercedes tuning so we will have to go with a piggback (not for sure 2nd alternative). He said Standalone is out of the question because I will loose a lot of features. He is going to look around to see if anyone is able to do the ECU. He said it's a pain in the butt, but we will give it our best shot before jumping to a piggyback.
He said I won't need an intercooler but what do you guys think?
It won't hurt will it? He said I will be wasting money because it wont make much of a difference.
What do you guys think on the Intercooler and the whole setup?
Thanks Guys,
Karo

Karo,
Your P0015 = "B" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 1) - You likely have a dud sensor - See Johnands recent 272 replacement. Buy the cheap one - it is genuine Bosch.
If you place the turbo in the muffler space - with resonator construction (tube with holes & ceramic wool around it in a can the car won't be very noisy. Turbo's do quite a bit to quieten exhaust noise.

Ok, I can't take it anymore, I have to say something. Karo, this will be the last negative thing I say, and I hope you take it as a constructive warning.
Karo, this project will not be as simple as you think. No, you shouldn't be scared to turbo a car, but you should also do your homework. It sounds like you're talking to some people that know turbo's but that isn't going to mean a whole lot if they don't know Benz engines. What you are attempting to do is going to be a complete custom turbo build. The thicker headgasket that you're talking about, dosen't exist for your car. It will have to be custom made for your car. Not only that, but all the tubing, piping, everything will be custom. You're asking about the intercooler - noone knows because noone has done it. Boost? Who knows it might blow at 6psi, it might blow at 8psi. Noone here will be able to tell you until it's been tried. I respect others that have turbo'd a Mercedes, but respectfully, it's not a M272. The newer V6 and V8 are much higher specific output engines and may (or may not) be sensitive to boost. The piggyback ECU, that dosen't exist either. As far as I know, NOONE makes a piggyback for any late model mercedes, especially the new M272/M273. Also, when people say you're going to need to tune the ECU after you do this, they're not talking about a mail-in tune for $500. This will take a custom tune and hours, if not days of dyno testing, all done by someone who knows the Mercedes ECU in and out.
All I am saying is, you've got to ask yourself a couple of questions. What is your intended goal? Is there a better way to reach this goal? What's your budget? What is your plan if someone tears your engine apart and then decides the project is dead?
Keep in mind Karo, that multiple people with lots of time and money have failed at a project just like this.
With that said, I'll track your progress and hope the best.
PS, Here's an example. If you want to see what happened, the result is on page 30.
