General tyres are made by Continental. The General Tyre company was bought out by Continental. Be careful with Exclaim UHPs - They have had run out trouble with stock in Europe from Portuguese, Brazilian & Czech Rep. plants. I know people that have had no probs - luck of the draw.

I had good experience with Nexen N3000. Cheap but it offers good performance, quiet ride, long tread life, etc
Kumhos are good too but I prefer nexens. Don't know how much 19's will cost but I got 18's for my nissan for $580 installed.

I see Tirerack has a special on them at present. Maybe worth the risk. They will always replace if they won't balance properly. TemjinX2 & Cintoman run them.
Maybe worth savings some bucks 'till the next pay cheque.

Small world - The Head Honcho of Continental Germany has just retired & become my close neighbour. My builder is building a new house for him. I thought I was **** - this dude wants perfectly pointed bricks on walls that are going to be plastered

i've been running generals for the past yr. i would say as a daily driver, there good for the money. They do give up if you take it on some tight turn canyons or auto cross.
The $736 seems a little high. Tirerack is selling general tires for around $150 each at the moment.
You might to check out some falken azenis's. From what i hear, they offer better dry traction but give a little more wear.
Kumho's are decent but they do get a lot louder as they wear.
I had the Pirelli's M &S all season tires on my integra. It was the worst tire i ever had. They were made in turkey with a radial drag. The tires kepted leaning to the left even though my car was properly aligned and balanced. I aligned and balance at least 3 times and still didnt help.
If you can afford it, i would just go with some good year f1's.

on tirerack it says $220 and $253 for F1 Asymmetics
and $269 and $340 for the Nero
that's $946 for F1 and $1218 for Nero.
he quoted me 936 for all four mounted and balanced. I don't know if this guy made a mistake or maybe he has overstock and wants to get rid of the Neros?
Now i'm even more confused. I think "losing my job" hasn't hit me yet. lol
They gave us some BS that the guy was stealing personal information for over a year and we weren't doing anything.
One thing I learned in the Corporate World anyone is easily replaceable.
Sort of like Tires. We are all tires and we keep the car (corporation) moving. Once our performance declines (tire thread wears out) out go the old tires and in come the new ones. Maybe better performance or maybe not.

if your looking for summer/performance tires go with Kumho SPT they are cheap and handle better than the other 3 in tirerack.com review. thats where i bought mine... they are sticky as hell and handle! best bang for the buck. i have winter tires on the stock 17 wheels and the kumhos on the 18s

Tyres are so friggin' personal - I went through years of trying different tyres - Today it's Michelin, Michelin & Michelin - I won't change

I drive a Toyota Hybrid...
I HAD GENERAL AND I CAN TELL YOU if you have aggressive lowering and negative camber they only last 6000miles that's it, if u push it more the air start leaking and you get all tires "bubbles" whatever you call it
then i downgrade to 18inch with Pzero nero damnnn love it
but yup they still wear too quick so i stop driving my benz and got a true Daily Driver accord![off topic](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/ot.gif)

I have Nero's on my car and I love them. Great tires with good grip. I've put 10k miles on them with some hard driving and they show very little signs of wear. The only downfall of the Nero's, they are pricey!

I'm sorry I should have gave some background info.
Right now I have the stock MB rims with tires.
Recently I purchased the Lorinser LM5 and the previous owner had them on an E55. So now I need to get new tires since these tires are bigger and also they are kind of worn out.

I haven't seen major runout issues on the tires produced here in the States. I would definitely say that the stateside product is worthwhile, especially considering the Firestone debacle from the late 1990s, and the NHTSA and Federal government involvement in the tire industry and its safety guidelines.
No tire will last a long time when you run them hard, and with gobs of negative camber.

I agree any tire with massive camber won't last long without rotation.
My generals have lasted me about 20k so far. I rotated them at 12k. but i'm upgrading tires, not because of wear, but for traction and handling.

Alright guys I just got home and got some bad news. We (IT Security Team) have been wiped out. The plug has been pulled and we are now part of the many unemployed people. We were given this letter and sent on our way.
Nevertheless I still want to get tires so I can finally put my rims on my car.
I got a quote for Pirelli Neros:
235/35-19
265/30-19
for $936 mounted and balanced. Is this a good deal? I got a quote for $736 and was told they are General. What other options can I go with? I don't really want to sacrifice performance just maybe different brands that will perform better for less. Are Pirellis mostly the name? How do the Neros perform?
Thank You,
Here is the memo we got (instead of posting the huge pic I posted the link)

Toyo T1Rs are cheap, Falken FK452 are cheap, Sumitomo HRIII are cheap, Hankook Evo S1 are cheap enough, along with many others. don't get stuck on what tires other ppl tell you. do your own search on tirerack. on price, tread wear, noise, etc.
from personal experience, Kumho Ecsta SPT is loud after few k miles. The Pirelli Pzero Nero is harsh, loud, and does not perform very well if you ask me. Yokohama ES100 is loud, but last forever and grips on par with Nero. Pilot Sport 1 were amazing tires didn't last very long. Hankook k104 is decent in performance and noise level, but stiff sidewall. T1R has way too soft sidewall and did not like the dry traction characteristic much. Pilot Sport 2, quiet, awesome dry grip, not as good in wet vs the Eagle F1 GS-D3, the warmer the temp the better it performs on PS2. Eagle F1 GS-D3 was by far the best tire overall I've owned it is on par with PS2s in every sense except it's a little harder to predict the limit. ContiSport2 and 3 are both good in dry, but will hydroplane in wet.

all tires WILL bubble is you hit a pot-hole big enough. It may not damage the wheel if the wheels are strong, but it can create enough force to destroy the wire inside the sidewall which is what is creating the bubble.
this thread is pretty redundant to what you already asked in the "tire thread" btw.if Phil see this he will probably merge or delete the thread. LOL

Get the Generals. i ran them on my BMW 330ci for about 2 years, decent wear, good grip and not all that noisy( well i was lowered and had mods on it so noise was not that much of a concern). they are good tires, you will save lost of money and still ahve good tires.
