Hi guys. I was wonderin I have some jap HIDs no bixenons *wish* but could I technically get bulbs for my hids and just plug and play? Or would I have to get the Bixenons then change the bulbs. The middle does look nice!

well they look similar in the pic. but in person. the 10k bulbs stay that purplish tint.... the reason the stock bulbs have that redish tinit is cuz its the camera.... if youve seen the stock bulbs they are just yellowish. so they do look really different when you see it in person. but i still like the 8k the best.

The human eye is best at seeing things in the color temperature of the sun which is much closer to the stock 4300K hids than it is the 6000k, let alone 8000K or 10000K. In addition, if the bulb is dyed to give it the blue to purple color, the dye absorbs some of the light, so there is less on the road.

For those of you that are in you teens and twenties, it probably doesn't matter as much as it does to those of us over 40 or 45. Night vision begins to deteriorate in the early twenties and real falls of at 45.

i thought HID bulbs arent tinted... cuz mines arnt and they are blue..just look in my sig...thats the whole purpose of xenon lights cuz when they heat up to 8000K they get so hot that it is blue...just like ROYGBIV how blue/indigo/violet are hottest colors...you are talkin about the fake wannabe xenons that have blue tints..and those absorb the light..

yea thats right... the real xenon bulbs are not tinted. the 8000k and 10000k indicate what temperature the bulbs are and the temperature will determine the color it gives off.

well actaully the light is less bright with the higher temperatures... cuz the 4300k is optimal vision.

Use google and do a little research on the subject. I don't mean posts like here. There are some excellent articles out there by experts, such as Daniel Stern and others. Somr of the ariticles I've read are not just about auto lighting, but how the eye works, photography and other subjects. The 10's look cool. but the 43's are the best.

I'll try to remember to post something tonight on why older people don't like HID's. They have a very valid reason. But it isn't enough to ban factory HID's. Aftermarket conversions should be banned.

In order to do the HID 8k version for the foglights you need to get a new harness/ballist/wiring etc. EuroRev can do it but it won't be cheap...the bulbs alone cost 300+ for 1 pair. You can contact Mike for further details @ 310.989.8838.

is there any way to just change the bulbs so that it'll match the stock bi-xenon's? I hate the yellowish look on the fog and the parking lights.

I dont think there is a way to match that blue 8k just by changing the foglight bulbs. The low beam is not a tinted bulb, it's the actual xenon bulb (temperature range) that gives the blue tinge.

Only other way I can think of using retrofitting PIAA plasma blues but that too isn't cheap...you need to swap out the entire foglight and install the PIAA ones w/ appropriate housing

The city lights definitely don't come in a true blue, so the center of our headlamps will always be yellow

I want all blue too So, I've done my fair share of research. There might be a brand of bulbs that may be super blue that I haven't come across yet, so maybe u know something i don't, let me know!

Honestly, I haven't caught the mod bug yet since my car is only 5 months old, but fug!! after looking at your car on Broadway st. Mbphreak.... I'm really starting to consider it. On the lights... I have no idea on bulbs.. I'm trying to find out info from you vets
Thanks for all the info on the parking lights & fogs... I hope there's some kind of solution without changing the housing. That yellow tint is really starting to annoy me

you can change the fogs and the city lights to match your stock xenons. its pretty cheap. only 15 bucks per set. so you need 1 set of city lights and one set of foglights so total 30 bucks.
