What kind of bulbs are on the city lights on the stock pic?
It looks like it's got a blueish tint on them. It also looks
like it would match the 8k head lights. Or am I just color blind?

You can get them from Steve (MBenzNL) or CarlssonCRS.

Steve sells them for $1100. I don't know how much he charges for installation. Steve's from the Netherlands and is basically a big pimp. He's got lots of other mods he can sell to you. A guy named Jay (ClassC) can also install the bixenons. Steve's email is s_krabbenborg@hotmail.com.

CarlssonCRS can also install them (correct me if I'm wrong!). I think he's in the LA area. You can PM him if you want his prices.

Right / Passenger side bi xenon headlight flaky failing ??

I've seen some posts, did search but couldn't find any meat.

My right side bixenon bulb doesn't light about 3 out of 10 times. I get the MFD failure notification and all - so the system is catching it but, alas it's still messed up.

Took it to dealer one week ago, they had it for five days because the part had to be ordered. I asked what part -- they said the whole headlight assembly. I say bull... the part # is 91013900000 - which as best as I can tell is the ignitor/ballast unit.

But, that would be the sensible part to replace. If it were truly the fault - which it now seems it isn't if that's what they replaced.

Ok, so anyone have gone through this and come out fixed? Please let me know waht you had to do.

I already had the car in for 20 days waiting for a compressor and now 5 days for a stupid bulb. I think the next time the car goes in it may never leave!!

Thanks in advance
Peet

It happend to me when I got my Bi-Xenon from Steve. At first my right side bi-X light up slower than normal and the MFD shown up error message shown right Bulb is out. In few weeks, the right light totally died. Steve replace the whole unit for me and later he found out the ignitor is bad. It's a easy fix for him but for dealer, they will replace the whole unit for sure.

Sorry Peet, mine have worked flawlessly for almost a year now. Never had a bulb not ignite or a message from my Bi-Xenons, work everytime. So there is hope that it is just a glitch and they will eventually fix it. That is one thing I hate the most about all this technology. There are too many things that could be bad. From a bad wire, to ignitor/ballast, to the bulb, to the housing itself, or the elctronics going to all this. Hell my sisters car would not start one morning because an animal of some sort came out of the woods and was hungry, he or she ate part of the harness with the ignition wiring in it. I came out one morning and my wifes car would not start, popped the hood and out jumps a rabbit. He ate the spark plug wires from plug to cap on the first two cylinders and the wiring to the headlight on the passenger side. So funny **** can happen as well. Most likely a bad component in your case, but stranger **** has happened.

I've been getting it at least every fith start, but on the drivers side. Dealer already replaced the headlight assembly and it didn't solve it...so next week I'll bring it in for the B-Service and have the look at it again. I also had the rear passenger side brake light that did the same thing, driver side front blinker (still doing it). I don't think the car lighting gods like me...

One of the girls here at work just got a nice new 2004 C230 Sport to replace her 2003 C230 Sport all because of the right headlight problem. She did have to get a lemon law lawyer, but 30 days later, they handed her a new car.

Dealer is replacing Bi-Xenon headlight

After having the much too common light malfunction on my driver side bi-xenon it failed completely last night, I re-started the car 4 times and the light didn't come back, so I got to drive with just one headlight in the middle of the night, great. It wouldn't upset me as much as it did if it wasn't for the fact that I went to the dealer 3 times already only for them to tell me they can't reproduce the problem. Of course this morning as I start the car to go to the dealer the light works again. Regardless I went to the dealer and told them what happened and that I am in no mood to be sent on my way again. Service Manager happens to listen in on my conversation and bluntly says something to the effect of, "oh yeah, we've been having a lot of cars with that problem, lucky for you we have the parts in stock". I ask why I've been sent back the last 3 times, including 2 weeks ago when I had my B-Service...he didn't have an answer to that. Oh well, at least that is fixed...for now.

This is wierd. I have had my car for exactly a year and have never once had either of my Bi-Xenons fail to work. They must have made some sort of change or I am the lucky one. Car has 18000 miles on it and build date of 12/02 end of month I think it was the 28th.

Retrofit Bi-xenon (US 2001)

I really need help with retrofitting the Bi-xenon on my car. I just got my Bi-xenon from Germany (Euro Spec) and my car is an US 2001 C240 Mercedes. I put on the bi-xenon on the car already, but the wiring harness (plugs) does not fit or plug into it. Do you think I need to get wiring harness from the newer model, like 2003 and 2004 so it will fit? If so, is it plug and play, meaning I just buy the newer wiring harness and replace the old one. Then just plug it in?

Is there anyway that you can help me out?

Thank you very much!

I Have done Several Bixeon Installs..You Dont Need another Harness...Just remove the bumper and change out the headlights
plug and Play..You WILL need to make a trip to dealer to version code the Xeon present so the headlights will work
