Regarding you guys efforts of getting this unit online via SIM card and subscription.
You're looking at this wrong.
Call mbrace of Mercedes. Choose the item mobile apps and subscribe to that for $14/ month.
Now your command unit has a hotspot function.
You connect the hotspot function to the android unit (may not even need to be a wireless connection, maybe done in the engineering menu of the command unit) and now your android unit is online, as well as the phones of everyone in the car.
There is a limitation in the age of the vehicle however.

If you have NTG 5, sure, but 4.5 and 4.7 is a ****ty 3g connection. Better to use a script app to toggle on you cell's hotspot when it connects to the MB Bluetooth and turn off when disconnected
I have the rounded 10.25" screen (I think that's v3) and I'd like to pair it with an OBDLink MX+ bluetooth OBDII dongle. I installed it in my port, but I can't find a pairing list anywhere in the software! I paired it with my phone fine and I paired my phone with the head unit fine (I used my phone's connection) but I can't figure out how to pair this dongle because there's no list to find pairable devices. I have a USB dongle so I can do bluetooth carplay and I got that to work because it had an APK app to install the dongle, but I can't readily find something like that for this. Anyone been able to successfully pair an OBDII dongle?
i ended up having to use a wifi dongle. i just could not find a way to get it to work with BT...
I installed on a 2013 mb c300 and can't set up the ntg every time I change from aux to radio screen turn black and also the a/c system that shows up on screen shows the different and car door like if I open driver side door it shows passenger side door open can someone please help
I’ve had the unit for about 3-4 months now (2nd gen, rounded edges). I love it every day. I have two small issues though. First, the microphone sucks, people can’t hear me when I’m connected to CarPlay, so I have to flip to the phone every time which defeats the purpose. Second, again when connected via CarPlay, the audio (songs) will freeze periodically. I have to turn off Bluetooth to prevent this (the CarPlay still stays connected). FYI - I’m using a wireless CarPlay adapter I got off amazon. Anyone have any fixes for these?
Hello, I 've had a 8.4 Screen on my Slk R172 for 1 year now, (It's exactely the same hardware and software except the width of the screen !)
I'd like to use Android Auto. I 've no sim card installed, and the only mode to reach internet is wifi and sharing connection on my Samsung S8.
My question: is it possible or not using Android Auto by linking the screen to the S8 with a simple usb cable (without using tethering)
or is it mandatory to use a carlink USB dongle ?
I answer myself to the question:
I still don't know if it is possible to have Android Auto connected on my phone without a dongle, But I received a dongle and with this dongle all is ok. I just have to connect my phone to the dongle, Android Auto starts automaticcaly on the screen, and i can use Google Map and all the allowed applications with my own parameters. I'll put the dongle behind the dashboard (exactly behind the ashtray). I'm fully satisfied with this solution: no action on the mobile, screen connected to internet, and power for the mobile.

i can use Android auto without the dongle but I much rather prefer to use the full screen apps. it's much better
DMP has the Android 9.0 version, now....with built-in wireless CarPlay and a host of other new features. has anyone purchased it? im thinking of upgrading mine...i have the Android 7 version....because, like @lukacsmw , i havent been able to make the wireless CarPlay dongle work without the stutters and restarts in connection. thoughts?
Hey Guys,
Bought this android screen for my 2010 C-class, installed the screen with no hiccups... But realizing i was getting no sound i forgot to plug the aux cable.
I then went ahead and removed the command unit to get to the aux cable, after reinstalling the unit i can no-longer can access the orginal NTG system ( Android screen is showing NO SIGNAL)
Playing sound from the Android and FM/CD from the MFD still works
I already double checked the quad locks and video cables to make sure it's seated properly.
Not sure what's going on... Was hoping someone here can help me out
Thanks

my 12.3" qualcomm snapdragon 4gb rom/64gb ram screen is already shipped by DMP Car Design, i look forward to this bigger Screen
I was tempted in getting the larger screen. Will it not be too massive though? How big is the tablet screen in the newer benzes? Also they seem to put the slower processor in the larger screen version. I haven't seen any with the latest octacore.

It really is a matter of preference hence, some will prefer the 10.25 and others will go for the bigger 12.3. This one i got has the best in class powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon "8 core 2GHz cpu blended with 4gb of ram and 64gb of rom and latest Android 10 OS, i'm also going to pair it with an external Samsung T7 ssd 1TB.
it just doesn't get any better than this in 2020, the unit has way more power and much more advance android os than one will ever need for our w212 for years to come.

I think they are still 10.25".
I've had both versions 1 and 2 of the very first screens from 2017-18. While the first version did feel a little gimped, I've been completely satisfied with the speed and performance of version 2. It opens and runs YouTube and CarPlay just fine, I don't really need it to do anything beyond that, so I don't see the need for massive processing power. If you wanna play call of duty on your car's headunit, more power to you. I just don't see myself doing it.
I'll probably be keeping my OG version 2 screen for the life of the car. I actually feel that the NTG5.2 looking UI of this old version looks more appropriate for our cars that the MBUX look of the latest Chinese screens.

it's the N600. I have W204 2010 model and I want wireless android auto and be able to play music via bluetooth. The 12.5" needs extra plugin for carplay but again I don't know if by carplay these guys mean android auto as well since one is iOS and the other android. sigh*

I ordered mine from them, it's the only place i could find this unit 12.5 with best specs and options. You'll get built in wireless carplay and android auto. it also has a much better and faster "Qualcomm Snapdragon" processor and comes with latest Android 10 os and they'll ship very fast to you. you'll also get good after sales customer service i.e. system updates and so on, you can also find them on Facebook they're well known and genuine in this business.
i advise you get the 4gb rom/64gb ram version.
this particular item is not yet listed on their website but they can arrange it for you fast like they did with me and paid them via PayPal
you can also contact them via Whats-App on their website before and after you buy.
Has nothing to do with quality but rather two different screen types. The 12.3 has "Blu-Ray Anti-Dazzle" Screen Which is slightly brighter and actually better screen if one lives in a sunny area all year round. The 10.25 has an "anti glare screen" which is better for all year round light intensity weather conditions.
