I know what you are saying, But no Ford or Dodge will do. It has to be a Benz, especially an SL55 AMG. I'm not going for street domination. I just want my SL55 to be all that it can be. Thats all.

Hey, I agree with you all, the VR1000 V12 QT will be insane! But I'm all about the V8 and I will mod it all that I can. Oh, and my car will not only be streetable, but completely drivable!

Any updates Vadim/Vrus? Price, torque, when these kits will be ready to ship?
I am working on getting pricing on components and availability. Although install is fairly simple, I going to make this an in-house upgrade only with dyno before and after, and custom tuning.

That is the only way I will be able to make sure that the VR700 Power Upgrade for 65s delivers.

I thought he said quad GT40 turbos on the SL65. Thats by no means a small turbo. I have no idea how he plans on fitting them under the hood.

I need to tune it on several cars first and see how much varience there is from car to car. If they are close enough to where I feel that it can be done by mail order than I will release it for mail order.

The kit will include:

1. Intercoolers
2. Air Boxes
3. CF cover - I am working on a design
4. Larger heat exchanger with CM30 pump
5. Powerchip software.

On a stock car we should see 65-75 RWHP and 100-120 RWTQ.

So in order to get these intercoolers we need the power chip tuning as well? These are not just plug and play with a stock or tuned car? Please explain what needs to be tuned?

Hey Vadim, I can't want to hear what you have in mind for the Turbo Installation!
Better yet, I can't wait for you to start the Turbo Installation on my 55 Kompressor. After my "VRSecret Weapon" (Havoc Stage 2) my 55 should be at 850-900 Horses. Adding Turbos after that should give me well over 1,000… “VR1200?”

I think some of you guys need to reread Vadim's original post on this thread, just under the picture. VRP knows where the Real AMG Power is and they're saving the Best for Last!

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that, was so excited about the current stuff. Damn! quad gt40s, this thing will be able to spin the earth backwards. There will be a bit of lag, though, no? Worth it though for the insane power.

SL65 VRP1000 and 20" Monolites
Ask Vadim

But, I don't think my 65 is going to be a Quad GT40 setup.

I'm pretty sure that we are keeping the stock turbos, and adding the twin GT40s in the back by the rear tires.

Lots of plumbing, and pressure losses to deal with, but, that way we can add the monster GT40s without cutting up the car too badly.

But hey, what do I know??

Definately a fun project.

I dont like to spend money on things that arent proven. I dont have pockets down to my knees like you. I have considered sending my car to several shops who promised twin GT35R setups running 600whp on pump gas with a stock block but couldnt pull the trigger since it wasnt proven.

BTW- If I do get it done my car would still be faster because it will be in a W208 body which is about 1000lbs lighter than your car

That was exactly what I was thinking. The smaller stock turbos for low-down torque and the monster Garretts for high boost madness. I'm sure, where theres a will theres a way. I could see the GT40's going in the back of the car, similiar to the STS turbo systems and such. That would be one hell of a setup.

As Paul Walker said in the sequal..."pockets ain't empty cuz."

Havoc and everyone, I really respect your decision to push the SL's to the limits. If you have the money and the desire...then why not! Modding is one of the best parts of car ownership anyway. And it seems like you will be very, very busy with getting these things up and running. Looking foward to see all the steps taken and of course, the finished project.

Lol, you fail to realize how big of a difference 1000lbs makes. Remember these are turbo cars so you can just slap meth injection on the car and turn up the boost. I'm not trying to be the fastest benz out there so you can have that once your car is done. I just want a fast daily driver that shocks the hell out of people. It already does to a certain extent Your car will determine how I decide to move forward with mine so thanks for paving the way. I am still waiting to see some positive results for the VRP cams
