yes...what you are missing is that i am agreeing with you on the fact that the 2 pistons on the c230 are indeed great...however however slight it may be the more pistons equals better braking and shorter stopping distance however slight the difference may be...its simple statics my friend...
and on that note, the faster you can lock up the wheels (to then put the stopping power to the tires) the faster you will stop...and the more friction will cause faster locking up (even though our tires will not truely lock up)...in fact what goes to prove your point even more is the fact that we have something called an ABS system on most cars today because it is relatively easy to lock a cars wheels up when hard braking...so unless you have altered that function simply locking up the tires will not play a "huge" role in all of this...

No, you're missing the point entirely. All else being equal, all of these braking system will result in equal stopping distances. Yes ABS will kick in, that is the equivalent to tire lockup. The point at which the tires cannot provide any more traction to the brakes. Since all of these brakes can almost instantaneously cause tire lockup (in which case ABS will take over) stopping distance will not be affected by the 2, 4 or 6 piston calipers.

whats the difference between an 04.5 c230 and a 05 c230?. i dont even know what year my car is anymore. thats explains why when i purcahse a set of brake pads, shops sometimes give me the wrong pads. i had to give em my vin number to be exact.

ours are not ceramic...and i know what you mean, i also have an '05 c230 ss but if yours is '05 its '05...its the '04's that changed...some got the facelift early...at least im pretty sure thats what it is

haha yes thats good cuz im done with it anyway...i dont really care nonetheless im gonna upgrade them just because i like the "look" of bigger brakes and rotors...i hate the look of ugly **** behind the wheels of big open wheels...i dont foresee me doing any tracking in which my braking is really going to matter all that much haha...but ya does anyone know how the 2 and 4 piston setups look different? im trying to figure out if i got the 2 or 4 piston...cuz if they're 4 im not gonna upgrade since thats pretty mucha ll i was gonna go for is a 4 piston amg set up...

lol of course i read this thread i started posting on it many posts ago...but no there arent any pics of the '05 front brakes and i dont have part numbers written on the outside of my brakes anywhere?! so how would you expect me to go about beign sure...i figured the best people to ask would be you guys i've only had my car myself for about 3 months so im still gettin to know her...

ok so i just went back and looked more closely at the painted ones and looked at a picture of my wheels and i now can see that i do indeed have the 2 piston calipers...so i conceed the point on that matter, thankyou for helping out e1000

what's the latest and greatest? anyone have any new opinions of the ebc redstuff? they apparently changed them a little while back. just curious if anyone has tried out the new versions. most of the reviews i found were most likely from the older models. i am stuck between those and akebono. i know akebono gets good reviews- but i have been a fan of ebc starting with my dirtbike and atv racing days and continue to use them on my motorcycle. just trying to give them a fair shake. i am going to use them with the stock drilled front disks and a new set of the ebc rear disks.

ebc's it is then. i was thinking the akebono were available, but the porterfields were not. ahh well- doesn't matter i guess.
i am going to get a set of the ebc dimpled disks- they aren't actually drilled. i am also going to pick up a set of stainless brake lines.
