Anyway, i'm not here to get in arguments, i'm here to get/give information about topics. I just want to find someone who has aftermarket lenses that are a good true fit, not some cheap lense from who knows were from cambodia... u know?

Anyway, I have pm'd some people who i've seen their pictures but no replies yet.... i just want to know where people have had good luck finding nice clear lenses for the side markers. I hate the orange color especially since the car is black and i don't want to buy them from the dealer so they can rape me... its bad enough they do it to my service bill.

Anyway the car is 4 years old and in my opinion the lights should not be rotting away and cracking off.... i have a beater 1986 Chevy Sliverado Truck that i use for "playing and stuff around the house" and it has factory lights, side markers and everything, and they're just fine...

so the moral of the story is that i would like info on where others have found good aftermarket lenses... otherwise i'm just going to foot the bill and go to the dealer and see what kidn of deal they'll make me on two new ones...
Okay, like I said in my post, the clear lenses are hit or miss. Whether they are the frosted or the "euro" clear (as they are called), both types of sidemarkers are made by the same manufacturer despite there being 10 million different vendors that sell them (much like the S Class style taillights).

When I say they are "hit or miss", I mean that some people purchase from a vendor on ebay and get a set of bad fitment sidemarkers, some purchase from the same vendor and get good fitment. No matter what vendor it is, these are all most likely manufactured by 1 company.

and fstblckpresiden, all you need to do this right are a towel and a screwdriver, hell you don't even need that, you can pry them off with your fingers! just start pulling at the piece at the front of the car...

you should change your screenname, looks like Obama is gonna beat you to it.

just make sure u dont scratch the paintwork, the towel or paper towel as i've used in the past is to cushion the flat screwdriver against the paint work when you're prying the marker out. Also make sure the area is dry or dry any moisture before you swap bulbs (to the silver/chrome type) to avoid blowing the bulb+/fuse.

LMAO! reading my post and then re-reading the thread i messedup. this entire time i thought you were talking about euro impact strips! clear side markers are not european! in europe they dont have the side markers period!

anyway, i would just buy euro impact strips or paint the OEM markers to match the bumper...clear markers are tacky (IMHO). and dont fit well!

i think clear markers look great! In the uk the 'side marker' is an indicator light to turn left or right and isnt on constantly (when darkness falls) like over here.

bahh sorry i resurfaced this tedious topic guys. i just took a good hour running through old posts on this heh...recently got my passenger side side marker cracked...came out into the parking lot...found blue/purple-like color on the fender....miraculously...took a sponge to it and got all the paint off the fender with very minor scratches....but the side marker still has a streak of paint and it's cracked in like 3 different spots haha...i'm debating whether to just replace them with exact same side marker (orange) or go for the impact strips...hmmm...

Since we are already on the subject of clear side markers, does anyone tried the newer style side markers shown on the attachment? Perhaps you can post a picture of your car. Thanks!

Tools required are a thin flat blade scredriver. Start from the front of the car and pop the edge and go from there. There is only one way for it to go so there is no screwing it up.

Just curious, does everyone seem to prefer the clear or colormatched lens over euro strips? IMO the euro strip is the only way to go. It looks so much cleaner than any lens ever will.

John. For me, I just like the light...although, I'm thinking of just color matching the OEM's I just bought from someone.

Sidemarkers--this has to be one of the top 10 things discussed on the w203 forum...

Here's another thread from a while back re: sidemarkers
https://mbworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=121258
it's funny that this was a little more than just a year ago...
