NEVER TELL ME YOU CAN'T....
A few weeks ago I found out I was running low fuel pressure compared to a Kompressor.
My stock fuel was at 58psi and what the car needs is 75psi. Here is a video with my friends kompressor.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAfjE0j02Z0
I was going to Potomac to see if I could source a Fuel pump, Fuel pump module and the fuel pressure sensor found on Amg Kompressors except the W211 and W219. These can be put in with not much headache. The module is pretty much a stand alone system. I would just need to supply power and ground, wire the pressure sensor in and plumb everything. The module varies the pulse width to the pump as fuel demand is requested and registered through the fuel pressure sensor. Very basic but would eliminate the need for a FMU or pump upgrade(which i had) with adjustable regulator. Short story the car doesnt like driving in 100 degree weather with stop and go traffic. The car already is running at a higher temp. to begin with but wont over heat. I ended up taking the electric fan out I found the V6 mechanical fan clears the S/C assembly

I ended up putting the Walbro Fuel pump i had inline after the stock pump. Ran an AEM fuel pressure regulator and bumped the psi up. Every thing ended up fitting inside the plastic guard. I didnt drive that night. The very next day the walbro took a dump
Right now I am running the stock pump with the regulator. The pump is doing fine surprisingly
I have been driving the car every day but never go WOT. When I do go the car pulls hard but the MIL comes on and pulls timing quickly after.
Fill ups are happening more frequent Im getting 15mpg

and I agree, the M104 AMG36 Rocks your socks!! The characteristics in that engine is really unbelievable!!
But all AMG's are good in their own way, If I were to get a C43 I would drop in the V-8 from the E55 AMG! considering the E55 V-8 has more torque then the C55 engine, AND the C-202 is lighter then BOTH the C-203 and the E55! Dam that would be soo HOTTT!

An inline 6 6 cyl Benz would be an entirely different story.
If I had a C36 that motor comes out and in goes the 3.2L diesel block from a diesel E320 and then goes on a Turbocharger.
As for the engine bays it seem that they should be the same but the only thing that leads me to believe they are different is when I tried to put my lower encapsulation panel on my C230 it wouldn't fit. The position of the subframe was off by about 2 inches. I would need to do some real measuring to tell you it will just drop in.
This swap will be the best option due to the falling prices of S/C 5.5s. Believe me when I say that.

lol,
stop thinking C36 is same as C43, it's not and I know it
I had choice between C36 97' and C43 99'
why you think I choose c43?
i told ya..marko drove both our cars
said yours felt like regular c280 lol.
mine was a rocket, perfect maintenance my friend

anyways.. both nice cars, but NOT the same,
again C43 > c36
enough said.

Talked to many people who owned BOTH 202 AMG's and said speed times are little to no difference at all, but engine sound and characteristics are very different. Its what you prefer in sound and engine characteristics in the end anyways... and yeah I had a chance to buy a C43 aswell if I wanted to, but I didn't. Take it from people who've raced both my friend.

if I were you, I would dump that 4.3 and drop in a 5.5 from an E55 AMG, THEN you will see some REAL power!!
1- its bound to be newer than any C36, will feel fresher on the road.
2- The easy upgrade to a 5.5L V8 / ability to flash ECU / ability t fit S/C and tune ECU.
Back to the good stuff!!
I wrote my FRIEND marko ( you know him
) who drove both said that,NOT ME
thanks.and if I were to own a c36, would only be the 97'
wich has 276 HP engine and much greater interior, steering wheel etc.
wich both of you do not own.
once again, c43 > c36, always did, always will

Well true, a C43 has more than a C36 interior wise, but the 36 has a much racy feel on the road, and IMO makes a nicer sporty noise than the 43. It ironically also has better low down torque despite the longer gearing than any C43 AMG i have driven including my Mechanic's own 1998 C43 w/o cats.
As V8s come the 43 lacks that low down punch, and isn't that impressive at the top end. not that any of the old merc engines are that impressive at the top end. but the 36 does rev to 7k and from 5500rpms has an urgency the 43 can't come close to.
I had the chance to buy either a 1998 43 AMG, or the 1995 AMG (both for my mechanic) and after driving both i took the 36. It simply felt more sporty on the road, more connected. this is my opinion.
only downside, i cant change the engine to a 5.5L v8, which my mechanic would have refused to do any ways (we go back a very long way and he is a family friend, thus he tries to keep me as safe as it is reasonably possible)
From any legitimate AMG enthusiasts point of view, C36 > C43. It's simple history, being that it was the first car built in joint production with AMG and Mercedes. The 3.6 was born from a 2.8 and everything in that 2.8 was modified...down to the oil pan by AMG. The C43 block on the other hand basically has a computer upgrade and hotter cams....not nearly as modified as a M104 block. They both hold their own but I can't help but laugh at youngsters (like you) who go around posting about how the car they own is "freaking super!!!" when they are trying to convince people there V8 is a little bit faster than a straight 6 N/A???.......I understand bro, that's gotta hurt the self esteem over time.
The early C36 was equipped with a 3.87 first gear (ratio).
The C43 was equipped a 3.59 first gear.
The early C36 has 280 lb-ft of torque. The late C36 has 284 lb-ft of torque. The C43 has 302 lb-ft of torque. Since the C43 is a lighter car, with more torque, perhaps it was the gearing that masked the . . . . . . . no? Now that I've tossed water on this magnesium fire . . . . .
Honestly guys, they're both nice cars.
Note: for those that slept through the fun parts of chemistry, using water on burning magnesium is about as useful as pouring gasoline on it
