Question
The website shows $150
If I already have my own mygenius is that all I need to pay to get this tune?
The MyGenius is a DimSport tool that once programmed is permanently linked to your dealers DimSport reseller license ID. I do not provide tunes through DimSport. DimSport has no ability to log data or monitor engine run parameters. As Jasonoff mentioned, the pricing you have mentioned is for Standalone ECU tuning. This rate is utilized as a per hour rate for standalones like, Bosch Motorsports, Motec, AEM, Haltech, LinkECU, ECU Master, Syvecs, etc. Please refer to the website for information pertaining to each service offered. If you have any further questions feel free to reach out.
Your ad says we can tune remotely, how?
Do we connect via web and you monitor a dyno or is this a flash tune?
I would like to know cost also, I find the website confusing and not sure what the actual cost is, seems we need credits for HP Tuners, a laptop and cable that you rent but when I choose I need that it goes from 600 to 1600 and then I think you get some of that back, but not all maybe you keep 150 for the rental of the 1000 you charge up front so basically confused.
I have a computer I don't own anything HPTuners, so what is the price of the tune all in with whatever you need to have for licenses and what you would need to send me to make it happen?

Do you offer remote dyno tuning services for shops that are well equipped? I bought a C63 as a daily, with no plans to touch it, but I can't stop my engineering mind from thinking of how we can make a good thing better :P

The cost of the custom tuning package is $1495. Tuning is done through HP Tuners which is the best tuning suite available for the M156. Remote tuning is done through HP Tuners as well as all map updates are based off extensive datalogs of over 130 sensors and computer channels. No other tuning suite offers the ability to log as many data points as I require. Dyno's are not needed as all tuning is based off data logs which involve building the tune off what the sensors and computer read from operation. Dyno's are only needed if you would like to see what final output is of the tune. I can tell you this, after the tuning is finalized, your engine will perform so well, you will have no need to rent a dyno as you will know for a fact that your engine feels totally different from the ground up. Throttle response will be better than any other tune on the market. Blip shift or rev matching is not possible with tuning as this is part of the firmware that exists on your computer from the factory. Burble tunes, popcorn tunes, etc are included if requested with the custom tuning package. This is not a flash tune, this is full custom tune build around your engine and configuration. I have my standards of safe operating limits. If an owner would like to push those boundaries higher, this can be possible at the owners risk and discretion. These tunes operate safer than the factory tune. Other benefits, in hot temperatures, normally the M156 has a loss of power. With my custom tune package, I remap many factory correction maps to prevent power loss due to elevated ambient air temps. The benefits of my tune versus other tunes is night and day. From a dead stop, you'll have more power and torque that is linear and direct without any surging or odd shifting. I will not provide any tune that I would not deem less safe than factory unless explicitly requested by the customer. So, essentially, we can make more power than any other tuner as this is entirely custom tuning. If your engine can take what we throw at it...it'll make great power, that is as easy as it comes.

Rental of an MPVi2 involves a $600 deposit that of which $550 will be refunded upon safe tool return. This $50 dollar charge includes return shipping label as well handling and processing fee's. The laptop rental fee requires a deposit of $1000, that of which $900 will be returned. The remaining fee will cover the rental, return shipping label, and handling/processing fee's.

yes, this would be no issue. although, dyno's aren't necessary as real life road logging will provide the most accurate results, dyno tuning is possible. in my many years of experience tuning, a vehicle will run 0.3 AFR leaner on actual road driving than on dyno. with the photo posted, a wind tunnel dyno will assist with preventing any dyno tuning or runs to exhibit that 0.3 AFR lean condition. with the custom tuning package, if in the future you decide to add ROW Intakes or headers down the road, retunes for these items are included at no additional charge.
another thing...some customers occasionally send me a data log for a checkup many months later. I will review these as part of the package for the life of your ownership of the vehicle if you ever feel the need to.

OK, thanks for the response.
Yes our blowers are from a wind tunnel and work exceptionally well
I'm going to tinker with some header designs and see what I can come up with.
What would be the cost if I already purchased an MPVI2 and the required credits? I've been toying with the idea of getting once since I could use it with my Jeep as well.
Pricing is on the website but for an NA tune without E85 or Nitrous is $1495.
Apologies for the dumb question, so the total cost of the tune is the MPVI2 unit + 8 credits + USD 1495 for the actual tuning by EightySixTuned?
I'm just trying to understand as I inititially thought that the credits were pertaining to the tuning itself. I realize now that it doesnt make much sense but I had been confused before.
correct, the licensing is required to allow HP Tuners to be utilized on your vehicle. this will unlock your ECU to be tuned by anyone who has experience with HP Tuners.
what I do have to remind everyone in regards, HP Tuners is only a tool to edit maps. the understanding and "tuning" itself is Bosch Motronic 9.7 and should not be confused as that HP Tuners is the same across all vehicles they offer map access to. it is a huge misconception that a shop that has been utilizing HP Tuners for over 10 years tuning Chevy's will have the proper knowledge or know how to understand how maps are linked and how power is delivered on a Bosch Motronic 9.7 computer. in stating that, another thing to mention is that each version of the Bosch Motronic computer functions entirely different and contain entirely different maps.
hey guys, was able to grab a dyno run today. we simply slapped the car onto the dyno and began the runs. this vehicle has spent zero time on the dyno to further refine the tune prior or on today's date. the vehicle owner was not able to flash back to a factory tune for comparison. specs of the vehicle are listed below. the second graph shows a comparison versus another tuners Stage 2 file in the spring/summer time in Chicago on 93 octane spring/summer blend. Other information is unknown other than vehicle arrived on full slicks to the dyno. the comparison vehicle also ran in 1-2 gears lower which generally speaking on a dynojet will raise all power figures. redline lists 137mph or so where as our run went to 183mph.
feel free to ask any questions and enjoy!

i forgot which publication did a comparison between different gear ratios and their dyno power outputs...but here is some information i was able to find online.

Ok so I think I have figured it all out, so $1495 tune + 100 for laptop rental + 50 for MPVi2 rental + 400 for credits to actual use the HP Tuner device.
So the simple answer is the standard tune will cost $2045 all in.

For $299, you could just buy the MPVI, then you don't need a rental for either. Unless you don't have a laptop

yes, sorry last week was a bit busy for me. you are correct with the rental fee's it'll be $2045.
Based on the feedback you see (ECU and power), what headers are your preference? Seems the two camps are 4-1 and tri-Y. Curious if you have any preference.
