Depends first on where you are located and then what setup you have now. And there is no facia that fits the FL w204 since it was not released for W204.

So!! Heres where I am now...
2010-2012 W212/W207:
You need new ESP.
This is possible IF you DONT have parametric steering and NO distronic!
If you have that it is impossible to make it work since speed signal is encryped.
So ALL works but navigation. You can do carplay and run navi from phone though.
2012-2015 W212/W207:
Your in luck!
All works fine since it has a totally different esp than 2010-2012.
2010-2012 W212/W207:
You need new ESP.

Chris, Need your help with some information.
I apologize if this is not the appropriate thread to address this issue, but I could not find a better one.
I have a 2016 E300 (W212) FL with HU5S1 and firmware recently updated to High_CY15_9
I want to activate Apple Carplay, Android Auto and Mirror Link, but the dealer service centre refuses to do so. Do you have any information if the Crux CAPMB-51 will work on my car??

Can anyone tell me when NTG 5.1 was introduced into US-Spec W212s? From what I understand, 2016s definitely have it, but what about 2015s?

Just want to have a few things cleared up
Car is Okt. 2010 C207:
- Navigation does not get speed signal, this was with you at first, because you ugraded your SAM units for facelift project, did I understand it correctly that this WILL work with my original sam units? No need to upgrade PDC?
- I need to upgrade my multicontroller to the facelift one correct? Is this one the same controller for all APS / COMAND units? Or do I need a a specific version?
- can the unit now be coded to the VIN? Understood the 5s1 was never shipped in a C207? so how can I upgrade maps/firmware via the dealer? Or do I need to buy hacked pins and torrent maps in order to update? I much prefer licensed versions from official channels.
- if the unit can't be tied to my VIN, how do I get the 3 Apple car play updates to be downloaded via an update?
- if the unit is not tied to my VIN how to I get COMAND OS / firmware version updates?
- I've got no rear camera, so no issues there.
I understood everything that's on the unit now, will work, but if the unit is stuck at whatever firmware / maps are on there now, how do I upgrade, have been been able to grab the updates and inject them offline?

This is what I figured out so far of the rear.
And the pinout is as I think:
15 2.5mm Red and Blue +12v (20amp fused feed from F26 in front SAM)
12 2.5mm Brown, Ground
11 2.5mm Bround, Ground
9 0.75mm Blue and White. Mute input from E-Call or Telematics
16 0.5mm Blue/Black - MOST Wakeup
14 0.5mm Blue/Green = Wakeup output to the multimedia connection unit
13 Ground for multimedia connection unit BUT not used for codes 505/522/531 - But used if you have Telematics Service Unit
10 0.5mm Ground also goes to the multimedia connection unit
the black-12-pin subconnector (Connector C on the wiring diagram), it has 2 CAN connections
Body Can (Brown/Red to pin 9, and Brown to pin 3)
Telematics Can Black.White to pin 10, and Black to pin 4)
5,6,7,11,12 are the ethernet connection to the diagnostic socket for uploading online-manual from Star Diagnosis
Without Telematics CAN the display can not turn on
DISPLAY wiring - just in case this has changed
Pin 2 = +12v (red/white)
Pin 1 = Ground
Pin 8 = Telematics can black/white
pin 4 = Telematics can black
3,5,6,7 not connected

Good news, the pin has been added online in Vedoc, so, once the carplay kit is coded we will see if the 3 needed updates come through, which will enable carplay.
The other good news is with being added to Vedoc, this also makes licensed navigation updates possible rather than buying rogue cracked warez codes.
