Second picture I just connect the radio OEM plug that's in my console directly to the new cable (OEM connector ) and then connect the new head from the 10.25 cable into the back of my console (standard)
Lastly I connect the blue OEM plug that was in my old display to the new wire I have pictured beneath and then connect the new rectangle white plug into the back of my screen leaving the usb out
No bootup or nothing, not sure if it's worth noting I have a reverse camera that has been properly installed into my car , but there's no wire at the front that would make me able to put it into the yellow cable as designed with the 10.25
Is there anything I can do?? To see if this device is defect??
So far although I am happy with the unit, I find it's a hassle to "get going" With the old unit you can start your car, find your music and be in your way in literally seconds. Well depending on how you set this up, it can take a whole lot longer to get your music going. Remember its an android box, it needs to boot up just like your Ipad or Tab, which in some cases can take forever. I'm also finding my Bluetooth (android) when connected to my phone sounds terrible. I'm still trying to figure out which is the best one to use, the stock or the android or both the same time. But if you connect to your stock blue tooth, you wont get voice turn by turn directions with the nav. The Navigation is IGO, there is a choice of Google Maps but I chose to use IGO, for me its 100% better than my stock Nav with tons of features that actually work I installed an app that plays my video and music. Still trying to figure it out but so far I'm keeping it...Kijiji will be getting my old screen soon.
So what you're saying is that the new GUI was just like the base screen of an android phone, not the car GUI, which the previous screen had and you've asked them to implement that screen and once that is ready, this should then be ready to go?
Also, important question: for this screen, is the ap for dashcam functional?

Maybe ask the seller to send you the wire harness just in case that is the fault since you don't want to send the unit back. My seller sent me cables. Although did not fix my issue 100%. And remember to file a dispute within 15 days of receiving the unit so it's on file with aliexpress. I'm assuming that's where you bought yours. If you don't there's not much you can do and unit is yours to keep..meaning you won't be able to get a refund anymore.

I updated my OEM maps to 2017 and not very impressed so will be opting for this unit sometime this year. Any suggestions on where to get installed? I know it is "plug and play" but I don't have patience and will break something. Think Best Buy will do it since it's plug and play?
And in WHAT way is that even close to our unit?? That is just normal very old screens with NO interactions with the car. They have no brackets whats so ever to w212 and all other models..Make sure you know what you talk about..
