the supercharged M3 will destroy the E55 hands down. THe 0-60 is just about similar. When the M3 is super or turbocharged then the E55 will get smacked.
Also with the M6 all AMG's well except for the 65's will get the dust

Three pieces of data now: one from Car & Driver, one from APK1013, one from our forum. None of which show a supercharged M3 to be any faster than a stock E55. SGC ran a 12.11 stock. Car & Driver tested the supercharged M3 at 13.1. And now APK's bud's M3 turns in a 12.44...when SGC has run a 12.1 stock in his E55.
As to the M5/M6: only 1/4 mile test I've seen for the M5 was Euro, where it ran a 12.7--no match for the 12.3's and 12.4's the E55 got in Road & Track, Car & Driver, and Motor Trend.

Improviz you are stupid for reading car and driver and all the other nonsense magazines that claim wildly off 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times also. Are you trying to tell me that the SL600 can get to 60 in 3.8 seconds. What are they smoking. I beleive that was from Car & Driver or Motortrend. One of the two and it raised a big ruckus on this forum also.
Why do you claim 1/4 times as the number to test. Why not use 0-60 and see how the M5 and M6 will be right on with all the AMG's. The M6's data is not out yet for the quarter mile though.

An equal joy is carrying that speed through bends. Its steering is quick, pin-accurate, and buck-naked of understeer. Where the old M5 had a dose of push built in, just to keep things stable, the new one is so accurate and hard-wired to your brain that it doesn't need stabilizing. You won't make a mistake with it. And if you do, the electronic safety controls seem faultless. But the rush is in staying within those DSC thresholds, leaning that V-10 power into the rear wheels, feeling the balance of grip move to the first phase of oversteer and rocketing out of the curve in search of the next one.
After such a virtuoso performance, the E55 struggles. It has the grip, and it certainly packs the punch. But it doesn't have the surgical accuracy, linearity, nor the communication with its driver. The two cars are almost the same weight, but the Benz feels heavier. On these fast sweeping curves, it kept its distance and didn't want us getting down and dirty with it.
There ya go enough said by the way that was taken straight from Motortrend. If you de-limit the M5 you will see speeds over 200 m.p.h.

What We Know: In addition to the next-generation M5 that's on its way this fall, BMW is also gearing up to release an M-tuned version of its new 6 Series coupe. It's expected to utilize the same 5.0-liter V10 power plant as the M5 along with a seven-speed SMG transmission. With 507 horsepower on tap, the M6 should have no problem keeping pace with Mercedes' high-powered CL coupes.

no we can't believe them. The M6 will just have to hand the E,S,CL,SL 55's and 600's a ball of dust. It will run 1/4 miles in the area of 12.0-12.2 seconds and we will then await the Supercharged engines to compete with the 65's but that won't be for awhile. Also wait the new RS6 will drop a cool 600+ h.p. then both Benz and Bimmer will get smoked.

Are u on crack. A supercharged regular M3 that runs the sprint to 60 in 4.6 seconds is not faster then a stock E55. Simple you are using wrong information to back up your posts. Instead of going with the higher psi boost for the M3 you go with the 5.5 psi one. Instead of thinking how the M6 CSL if and when it comes here will kill all non Benz 65's.
You need to stop reading car magazines and bring the two cars to a track. Mano a mano. That is it with two professional drivers in each car. That is the only way to settle it.
Keep denying it but BMW is going to go horsepower crazy and so is Audi so be prepared for the E55 to get left in the dust. (Oh yeah the same goes for all other 55's and 600's)
I'm outta here and going to be spanking a bunch of 65's too. (Thanks to Ferrari's new F430 which I will modify to make just a bit shall we say) -

By the way, as far as the M3 goes, his trap time was 2.2 or something. The E55 did like a 1.8. The M3 is clearly more powerful, and it will destroy a CL55 and run right with an E55. We are willing to come out and play when u guys want.
