Keep in mind that Lake Speed Jr does have a relationship with Joe Gibbs Racing/Driven oils. If what you’ve been doing to keep your M276/M278/M157 out of bore score hell, I say keep doing what you’ve been doing.

Getting this mod done Wednesday, very excited!
Just out of curiosity though, if one was to change there oil lets say every 2500 miles or 6 months whichever comes first with Liquimoly 5w-40 would this mod be helpful to them considering there oil is always almost fresh? Just curious

Manual on-demand cooling :
you can simply shift one gear down while cruising to raise engine speed near 2500.RPM for couple minutes.
This will help remove your pistons heat out and into coolant heat-exchanger to radiator.
> NO-MIX Workaround:
"On-demand" provides manual temperature control without having to mix oil for automatic spraying by-way of viscosity adjustment.

Thanks for the tip! I generally drive the car highways so the RPM are low and in comfort or sport typically, and I will periodically do the downshift to around 3500-4k for the spray, I just wanted to do the mod for longevity as it’ll cool the pistons more. Has anyone had this mod in the summer? Particularly in cali it can get very hot!

.... UNDERSTOOD ....
I am glad some of your wise guys understand the complexity of this topic... it's more than cut the cord + change oil!
I think just the MOD-2.0 empowers people with more choises and free personal decisions.
We DON'T NEED TO KEEP the stock setup for run-away heat burn-your-oil black BS.
Now my engine temperature is seriously under control: cold garage and NO FAN always ON. I could not ask for more. I am old enough to doctor a few basics with the help of the ultimate dive-buddy MS!
The GDI timings are positively helped by a good clean faster CAN-C bus - I've just re-soldered my ESP module and after only 40.Mi tranny shifts noticeably faster... courtesy of stupid brake module.
ESP re-soldered CAN BUS shared with ECU/TCU... guess how fast tranny shifts now
I think this is a game of BOSCH ESP against CONTINENTAL TCU.
Thank you all contributors and joy to many Lucky friends.
You have discovered the "Secret legacy cooling mode" aka. MOD-2.1.
4000 Miles old MOD-2.1 oil: AMBER, not black
Level is holding very well given all the big torque I got from GDI mixtures. It fly's from low, super direct. Rich-strong mixtures under built-in stock control, a welcomed surprise.
In couple weeks, I am going to dump in an extra 100ml booster shot. I want to give this testing oil all chances not to get cooked by borderline-viscosity.
100ml is a good size shot with current choices.

This was an interesting find over at Yellowbullet.com... seems we're not the only ones finding issues with variable oil pumps. This is on Ford's "Godzilla" line of heavy duty truck engines (7.3L):

I have not read through all of the particulars with this, but the failures are due to reduced oil pressure at idle/low RPM. Why they would need to squeeze economy out of a heavy duty truck is beyond my reasoning, but this is the end result.

Just came from a 2000 mile round trip drive from Chicago to north Carolina to visit the famous tail of the dragon.
Drove there a few hundred miles, drove down to Helen ga, drove a few more hundred miles, and drove back to Chicago another 840 miles.. Car didn't skip a beat, running up and down the mountains, keeping rpms at 3-5k, downshifts, full throttle runs, car just kept on pushing! Oil change coming soon. Liquid moly 5w40, also iat pump rewire with a upgraded side mount intercooler

Just packaged up my oil for Blackstone. Changed the oil yesterday. A shade over 5,000 miles on Molygen 5W-40 (I did have to add 1L during). About 104k on car.
I didn't drive it very far because during this service I realized the insides of my rear tires are beyond spent (whoops). But I did drive it a bit and it feels like the unplugging mod is doing more for me. It's back to that responsive throttle off the line. We'll see what Blackstone says. I will post.

Over 2 weeks later finally got car back on the road. It actually feels different enough that I felt the need to do another MCT clutch relearn. So I did that yesterday afternoon and it, yet again, feels different. Remember, I had just done a relearn at the end of the last oil change and did one with less than 50 miles on the new oil and it is smoother.

Drove my car about 50 miles post oil solenoid disconnect and here are my findings.( also did the following at the same time- Liquimoly 5w-40 oil, 2 cans ceratec, 2 cans engine flush, 2 movotech control arms + alignment, liquimoly diff service, liquimoly speed tec and jetron) I do live in Los Angeles so currently it’s about 73 degrees and sunny and I’m not sure if my findings are from the solenoid disconnect or all the other engine servicing I did. My car is running about 8-10 degrees cooler, rarely passing the 210/200 mark, on the freeway cruising around 85-90 in S I was getting 195/195 which is excellent and it would only rise in traffic then cool down again. I also don’t know if it’s placebo but the motor seems smoother and quieter, I’ve only had the car a week so I don’t know if it drives any different per say but I think it’s definitely a good mod to do as it’s free and really has no negative affect.
