Really looking for some advice. I know servicing one is really expensive, parts is expensive but is it a reliable car to drive

If you go ahead with your purchase, please not post 64 above. Not trying to "poach" you - I used to maintain the Encyclopedia both here and elsewhere - but I keep the one in the link at post 64 current, and free of questions (so that it remains a reference tool rather than a discussion thread).

I found a problem on my car with the switch, when I put in the key and turn up to the start it does not start the engine. I checked on the information displayed on dash screen, it reads 'NO MALFUNCTION'. Kindly advice what might be the problem or what can I do before taking it to the dealer?

there are two lights that come up (i.e. ESP lamp and Vehicle Rising buttons on the console) as shown on the attached photos

I just bought a 2005 s430 with start stop button on gear shift that don't work...any clues on why it don't work. but my key fob locks and unlocks the doors and opens the trunk.....

Hi - new to MB, just bought a 2001 S55. Still learning the car, hunting thru this site for info. Your post above - astonishing! Thanks for all your time.

When Comand/ radio/ nav system is on, intermittently the voice recognition system will turn on and act as if I've tried to activate it. I can be totally quiet, just listening to radio, and it'll mute the radio and ask for a command, etc. It's intermittent and random, but doesn't go away.

Any thought on how to deactivate it, is something turned on, am I doing something wrong ?

I have been a stalker on this site for a couple years, decided on a nearly complete restoration on my CLS and figured the only way I was going to begin to get from point a to point b was to enroll and bring asking questions. Stupid, redundant, I surely do not mean to, however, until my learning curve meets this forum, I am sure there will be some mishaps. There always are!

My first simple issue, I hope, is a new key was ordered by myself, through MB, when I reset everything, all worked well. For one day. I have not gone through many problems as the only one seems to be the windows do not work. Sunroof is fine...? Lock, unlock and trunk open works fine??? Also, last night I pointed the remote to the sensor by the door handle and both directions worked as well, with an extra 2-5 second hold on each direction.

This morning, windows do not work, sunroof, yes. Tried all the other "resets", none seemed to avail to anything but frustration.

Once again, I am sorry if this is in the wrong section. I have just enrolled and was excited to post, as I am sooooo wanting this car to be in the shape it should be! Thanks ahead of time for any who answer.

hi my trunk handle works in reverse, when the trunk is open the handle does not extended. but when the trunk is closed the handle extended for 30-60 seconds and retract. i seen some post said the dealer reset the pse. Please help me to reset pse.

Seriously, you quoted the entire (outdated) index to the W220 Encyclopedia to ask a 1-line question? No fun scrolling through all that just to get to what you needed.

You might check http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...ml#post5758758 and look at the material under "soft close," especially those by "ricebubbles." I don't know if it has the specific coding you need, but it would seem it is indeed a programming error. I do not know if you can remove the handle mechanism and reverse the connections. The diagrams may help.

Okay, I looked everywhere. I'm trying to find if anyone has done a write-up on how to change the leveling sensors on the front and back. This is my first time tackling an MB problem (car right side lower than left; no errors or codes). Brought it to dealer and the report said that everything checks out except the leveling sensors are not giving the right voltage and air compressor is working fine but takes time to refill air.

I was on my way home one evening and I noticed the ES light on my dash was on, I noticed a slight miss in the engine. the car died about a minute later. Had it towed home. looking I found fuse 49 had blown, I replaced this fuse (while the car was cool) it started back up and ran until it heated up then died. I got it to start again and it started ran a sec. then died with ES light on. Read about the crankshaft position sensor and it very much sounded that way so I ordered one off Amazon (Part No. 0 261 210 170 made by Bosh) I changed the sensor. Car starts, ES light is off, is running then in a couple of minutes it dies. I let it cool and it started again, ES light is on now, it runs for a short while and dies, now starts and immediately dies. Do I need to reset something or what? Where should I start and what should I test and how? I have an auto ranging multimeter (Southwire 10040N). Where should I start? Please give me some help. Thank you.
