My favorite forum is AudiWorld. It was my first enthusiast forum and I developed a lot of "real world" friendships. I still go to the Audi DEs (well organized and good peeps). Yet I haven't owned an Audi in a long time. I should note that a sizable number of Audi track-day fanatics have slowly converted to Porsche ownership for track cars (5 or 6 of us have 944s and others have 911s). Trying to make your luxo-daily-driver into a track car is an exercise in futility and frustration.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
With Fifth Ring trying to replace his C32 as well, I'm going to miss your track day stories.......
Having said that, I enjoy taking the C55 to the track.....sure there are compromises and you have adjust your driving to adapt to the car, but it can still be quite enjoyable and surprisingly competitive too with many more track oriented vehicles on your typical lapping day.

the c32 aquitted itself well as a dual purpose machine. i have a lap record for class at pocono north. a buddy was also very quick in his c55. http://www.cartct.com/trial_record.shtml
i spend more time here than the m3 and ferrari forums combined. but the demographics here are changing as the car ages. my forum mates are drifting away....
Greg- dunno if you're interested but there is a daffodil yellow 1987 944 T with 99K for sale in my neck of the woods. i peeked under the car it's rust free and the interior is in great shape. asking price is 9K. i am interested but really don't need it. let me know i can certainly snap some pix for you.

i've had 2 and used them for commuters. both with the big SR20DE 2000 cc aluminium twin cam. never modded the cars but came close to buying a hardtop and prepping for race car duty.
liked the car so much i tried to buy 3 others but deals fell through.
fun fun with the t tops down, zinging to 7500 rpm, carving corners.
the car is also a snow monster. comes with a LSD standard. i'm driving mine now on dunlop winter M3s it's unstoppable.
i do get tons of disrespect tho.....i comfort myself by muttering " you wait, i'll come blow by you tomorrow with my ferrari"

See yeah

PS: Maybe next year you will re-join our fold with another MB
Steve- i have had wrist tendonitis past 6 weeks that has prevented the last bit of work in stripping the 325 of the sound deadening. I'm going to be off for a few days i plan to dig the car out and take it for the work transferring the M3's drivetrain over. Aim to have her ready for spring. I'll start up the trackday spreadsheet in march when clubs have published dates. (SCDA has already and has a 4/20 lime rock event).
Merry Xmas to you guys and your respective families.
